How to Select the Right Toddler Bed for your Child

Toddler beds are designed for those kids who have are graduating from their infancy to becoming toddlers and want to escape from the clutches of their mother, and this the right age to move your child to a toddler’s bed.  Or if the kid is at the age of 18 to 30 months it can be considered at the right time. This is an exciting time for both the parents and the kid though they are slightly confused and nervous. These beds provide both confidence and safety in the child. And looking for a perfect bed for the child is a challenging job for parents as they want to give all the comfort in the world to their kid.

These beds are low to the ground and have fit standard crib mattresseses. These beds come in various shapes, maybe as princesses castle, spaceship, spots-car, or a house or hut. They have partial rails to protect the child from bumps and falls. They are tailored to take care of the baby’s comfort and safety.

What to look for when go for buying one

·         These beds are quite affordable costing between $50 to$200.

·         Whichever design and colour excites the child chose that colour and design since they come in multiple colours and designs.

·         safety of the child should be the priority. A smooth finish is just as it should not hurt the child. All the edges should be smooth and round so that the baby does not get pocked.

·         Go for a child-friendly design so that the child is happy and comfortable while sleeping.

·         It should be big enough to host the parent when they try to put the baby in.

·         It should have protective railings so that the child does not fall from the bed.

·         Structure, hight, design, and space are the thing that attention should bee gave while purchasing one.

Benefits of the Toddler Bed

1.   A toddler bed is something between a cat and a regular bed. It occupies less space and can be kept in the same room as the parents.

2.   Most of them have drawers, shelves, or sideboards in which kids’ toys and other things can be stored. Many of them provide additional storage in which kids’ clothes and blankets can be stored.

3.   Most of these beds have comfortable designs, with safety rails as an enclosure in which the child can play without the fear of falling.

4.   Toddler beds can be so designed that they can be converted into a single bed whenever necessary.

5.   The design and colour appeal to the child and they have fun in it.

6.   They are low to the ground and the child had easy access to them.

Disadvantages of a Toddler Bed

1.   Whenever there is a change in the place it upsets the Childe’s equilibrium and disturbs the Childs routine. Since the baby may find it difficult to adapt to the surroundings, which may lead to disturbed sleep patterns. At this time parents must maintain a  consistent bedtime routine.

2.   The child may feel a little insecure in the beginning, therefore care must be taken to make them feel comfortable.

3.   If the safety railings are not properly in place then there is a danger of the child falling.

4.   If the railings in the bed are of toxic material or inferior quality then it may harm the child may pose a great danger for the child if it bites or licks the railing with the mouth. Care must be taken that the railing comes in superior quality MDF that is moisture resistant and scratchy and stain-free material.

5.   All the safety ratings should have a JPMA certification sticker on therefor the safety of the child.

Conclusion

The use of a toddler bed is the first step in making the child independent. This also develops a sense of confidence in the child. With the shrinking of space and the new apartment system in place, these beds are a great idea. A slightly big bedroom can accommodate both the parents as well as the child’s bed in the same room.
