ShoesCover Max Review: $39 Clear Overshoes for Rainy Days

Reusable clear covers that zip over your shoes to keep them dry. A practical idea, but the grip sole and the ankle height in the photos are add-ons, and plain soles can be slippery.

Our verdict

A sensible rainy-day accessory at a steep price. ShoesCover Max are clear, reusable covers that zip over your shoes to keep them and your socks dry, handy for commuters and cyclists. But the textured grip sole and the ankle-high design shown in the main photo are both add-ons, smooth plastic soles can be slippery on wet floors, and there is no size chart. Similar rain covers cost far less than $39 a pair. ShoesCover Max scores 3.4 out of 10, held back by price and paid extras.

The short version

  • What it is: clear waterproof overshoes with a front zip and drawstring top.
  • Price: $39 for one pair on 6 October 2026, with a five-pack for $99 flagged as the best seller.
  • Best trait: dry shoes in rain and puddles, in a foldable cover.
  • Biggest drawback: grip and ankle height sold extra, and a high price.
  • Our score: 3.4 out of 10.

Pros & cons

Rain overshoes are a simple, useful idea. The pros reflect that. The cons are about grip, what the base price includes and value.

What we like

  • Keeps shoes and socks dry in rain and puddles
  • Reusable and light enough to fold into a bag
  • A front zip and drawstring top make them easier to put on
  • Transparent, so your shoes still show
  • The seller names a registered company with an address, email and phone number

What we don't

  • The textured grip sole is a $4 add-on, and smooth PVC soles can be slippery on wet floors
  • The ankle-high cover shown in the main photo is an $8 add-on
  • No size chart or material details on the page
  • 'Top rated solution for rainy days' names no rating
  • At $39 for one pair, they cost several times similar rain covers
  • Return postage to an overseas seller is yours to pay

How it works

ShoesCover Max are made from clear, flexible plastic shaped like an ankle boot, with a sole, a zip up the front and a drawstring at the top. You zip one over each shoe. Rain and puddle water stay outside; your shoes stay dry. Afterwards, rinse, dry and fold them.

  1. Choose the right size

Step 1: Pick the size that matches your shoe size so the cover fits snugly without stretching.

  2. Zip it over your shoe

Step 2: Open the front zip, slip your shoe in, then zip up and tighten the drawstring at the top.

  3. Walk carefully, then dry

Step 3: Walk with care on wet tiles and smooth floors, and let the covers dry before folding them away.

The page title calls it a "waterproof shoes cover", "easy wearing shoes cover", "transparent water resistant shoes cover" and "waterproof ankle high shoes cover". The six bullets promise "instant protection against bad weather", a "top rated solution for rainy days", easy wearing, long-life materials with a reinforced layer, a waterproof front zip and light weight.

What the page leaves out

There is no size chart, material, sole pattern, height or weight.

Two of the photos are add-ons

The main photo and the $8 "ankle-height cover" image show the same ankle-high design, and the textured sole is a $4 "micro-grip" upgrade.

Who it's for

ShoesCover Max suit commuters in good shoes on rainy days, cyclists and scooter riders who want dry shoes on arrival, and parents or festival-goers on muddy ground. They are not for slippery floors without the grip sole, heavy work or deep water. Our WinterSecret Pro review covers a heated vest from the same checkout for cold days.

  • Festival-goers and parents at muddy sports fields

Commuters

Arrive with dry leather shoes, then fold the covers into a bag.

Cyclists

Spray from wheels soaks shoes quickly; covers help.

Outdoor events

Muddy fields and festival grounds are where covers earn their keep.

Who should skip it

Skip ShoesCover Max if you will walk on wet tiles or smooth floors without the grip sole, if you need covers for heavy work or deep water, or if you need a size chart first.

Are ShoesCover Max safe to walk in on wet floors?

Take care: smooth plastic soles can be slippery, and the textured grip sole costs extra. The UK Health and Safety Executive's guidance on slip-resistant footwear stresses that sole compound and tread pattern both matter, with close-packed tread suited to wet indoor floors. A plain PVC sole offers little of that.

What the HSE says about soles

The HSE's guidance on choosing slip-resistant footwear explains that tread pattern and sole material affect grip, that patterns should not clog, and that slip resistance falls as soles wear.

What this means for you: add the grip sole, and walk carefully on shiny surfaces.

"Top rated solution for rainy days"

No rating or source is named.

"Waterproof front zip"

Zips are a weak point. Water can seep through teeth under pressure or when worn.

Deep water

Ankle-high covers keep out rain and shallow puddles, not floods.

How much does ShoesCover Max cost, and are the add-ons needed?

On 6 October 2026, one pair of ShoesCover Max cost $39, with the five-pack at $99 flagged as the best seller. The checkout offered a micro-grip sole for $4, ankle-height covers for $8, a car USB charger adapter for $4 and a 3-year warranty for $9. The pair pictured, with grip and ankle height, costs $51.

Micro-grip sole

For $4, "an extra process for creating a better grip with the ground". The image shows a dotted texture on the sole edge. This is the add-on most worth having.

Ankle-height cover

For $8, a design "with ankle height cover" to stop water coming in from above. The image matches the main product photo.

Car adapter and warranty

A $4 car USB charger has nothing to do with shoe covers; skip it. A 3-year warranty for $9 on rain covers is not worth it.

Are ShoesCover Max better than other rain overshoes or waterproof shoes?

No. Similar reusable rain covers, often with grip soles included, are sold widely for much less, and branded rubber overshoes last longer. For people who walk in rain every day, waterproof shoes or boots may be the simpler answer.

ShoesCover Max vs generic rain covers

Same idea, grip often included, much lower prices. That is where a rival wins.

ShoesCover Max vs rubber overshoes

Rubber overshoes grip better and last longer, though they are bulkier to carry.

Are ShoesCover Max legit, and what should you check before buying?

ShoesCover Max are a real product from a named seller, and covers should arrive if you order. Before buying, ask for the size chart, add the grip sole, decide whether you want ankle height, switch from the five-pack and note the card statement name.

Refunds and returns

The page code offers a 30-day guarantee for a full refund or replacement, less shipping and handling. The terms we recorded on 4 October 2026 focus on defective goods, which can be returned within two years once you have a returns number, with return postage at your cost.

What owners say

We found no Trustpilot profile for the gadgetxaura.com store and no retailer reviews for ShoesCover Max by that name. Owners of similar clear rain covers on large retail sites tend to like dry shoes on rainy commutes, and complain about slippery soles, zips that split and soles that wear through on rough pavements.

What we did, and did not, do

Nobody on our team has used ShoesCover Max. We read the offer page our link opens and its page code on 6 October 2026, along with HSE guidance on slip-resistant footwear and the pages that rank for ShoesCover Max. The refund and returns terms are as we recorded them from the site's terms page on 4 October 2026.

How to use ShoesCover Max without slipping

Choose a snug size, zip the covers fully and tighten the drawstring, and walk with shorter steps on wet tiles, marble and shop floors. Take them off before going inside where floors are smooth, rinse off grit, and dry them before folding so they do not grow mould.

  1. Snug fit. Loose covers slide around.
  2. Zip fully. Water finds gaps.
  3. Tighten the drawstring. Keeps rain out at the top.
  4. Short steps on smooth floors. Plastic soles slip.
  5. Remove indoors. Before shiny floors.
  6. Rinse off grit. Grit wears the sole.
  7. Dry before folding. Prevents mould.

On a bike

Tuck drawstrings away from the chain and check grip on the pedals.

Storage

A small bag keeps wet covers away from other things in your rucksack.

What else do people ask about rain shoe covers?

Most questions are about high heels, children and snow. Heels need special covers, children's sizes vary, and plastic covers give little grip on snow or ice. Browse our apparel and accessories reviews for more.

Do they fit high heels?

Standard covers do not suit tall heels. Look for heel-specific covers.

Are there children's sizes?

The page does not say. Ask the seller.

Are they good in snow?

They keep shoes dry but grip poorly on snow and ice.

Can I wash them?

Rinse and wipe them. Avoid machine washing.

Frequently asked questions

Do ShoesCover Max keep shoes dry?

In rain and shallow puddles, waterproof overshoes generally do, as long as they fit snugly and the zip is closed. Water can still get in at the top in deep puddles or heavy rain running down your legs.

How much does ShoesCover Max cost?

On 6 October 2026, the offer page listed one pair for $39, two for $59, three (two plus one free) for $79, four for $89 and five (three plus two free) for $99, with the five-pack flagged as the best seller. A grip sole cost $4, ankle-height covers $8 and a 3-year warranty $9.

Are they slippery?

Smooth plastic soles can be slippery on wet tiles, marble and shop floors. The checkout sells a 'micro-grip' textured sole as a $4 add-on. Walk carefully, especially on smooth surfaces.

What sizes are there?

The page gives no size chart. Shoe covers usually come in sizes matched to shoe sizes. Ask the seller before ordering so they fit snugly.

Can I use them on a bike?

Yes, they can keep shoes dry while cycling. Check the sole grips your pedals and keep drawstrings away from the chain.

Are they reusable?

Yes. Rinse off mud, let them dry fully and fold them away. Zips and seams wear over time.

Is ShoesCover Max legit?

It is a real product sold by G Com Pte Ltd, which lists a Singapore address, email and phone number. The concerns are the grip sole and ankle height sold extra, no sizing, the price and return postage at your cost.
