DroneXS Review: An $89 Mini Drone That Folds Into Its Own Remote

A tiny folding drone that stores inside its controller and streams video to a phone. A fun indoor toy, but the camera and flight specs are missing, and $89 is a lot for one.

Fold-into-remote mini drone

Quick answer

A fun indoor toy, not a camera drone. DroneXS is a tiny folding quadcopter that tucks into the middle of its own remote and streams video to a phone, which makes it neat to carry and gift.

Our verdict

A fun indoor toy, not a camera drone. DroneXS is a tiny folding quadcopter that tucks into the middle of its own remote and streams video to a phone, which makes it neat to carry and gift. But the page gives no camera resolution, flight time, range or weight, calls it "safe for children" because of rounded propellers, and charges $9 for spare blades that already appear in the box image. Mini drones like this drift in any breeze outdoors. DroneXS scores 3.4 out of 10, held back by missing specs and price.

The short version

  • What it is: a mini folding drone that stores inside its controller, with a phone video feed.
  • Price: $89 for one on 6 October 2026, with a five-pack for $277 flagged as the best seller.
  • Best trait: a pocketable, giftable drone for indoor practice.
  • Biggest drawback: no specs, a toy-grade camera and a high price.
  • Our score: 3.4 out of 10.

Pros & cons

Mini drones are a good way to learn the basics cheaply. The pros reflect that. The cons are about missing details, safety wording and value.

What we like

  • Very small, and stores inside its own remote for carrying
  • Propeller guards and spare blades appear in the box contents image
  • Live video to a phone, held in a clip on the controller
  • Micro-USB charging, simple to top up
  • The seller names a registered company with an address, email and phone number

What we don't

  • No camera resolution, flight time, range or weight on the page
  • 'Safe for children' overstates it: spinning propellers can still cut fingers and eyes
  • Extra propeller blades are a $9 add-on, though four spares show in the box image
  • Mini drones drift outdoors in any breeze and have no GPS
  • At $89, it costs more than many similar mini drones
  • Return postage to an overseas seller is yours to pay

How it works

DroneXS is a small four-rotor drone with folding arms. Folded, it slots into a cavity in the middle of the controller, so the whole kit is one object. Unfolded, it flies on four small motors, controlled by radio from the remote, while a front camera sends a live picture over Wi-Fi to a phone clipped to the controller. It charges by micro-USB.

  1. Charge and unfold

Step 1: Charge the drone by micro-USB, take it out of the remote and unfold the arms. Fit propeller guards for indoor flying.

  2. Connect your phone

Step 2: Clip your phone to the controller and connect to the drone's Wi-Fi to see live video.

  3. Fly gently indoors

Step 3: Take off in a clear room, keep it low and slow, and land before the battery runs flat.

The page title calls it a "mini remote controlled drone", "personal camera drone", "pocket mini drone", "RF mini drone", "extra small drone" and "quad-copter drone". The six bullets promise stable, precise RF control, "new inside-the-remote storage", live video streaming, protection braces for crashes, safety "for children with rounded-tip propellers" and micro-USB charging.

The box contents

The extra propellers add-on image shows the remote with the drone stored inside, the drone, four spare blades, four propeller guards, a cable, a screwdriver, instructions and a phone holder.

What the page leaves out

There is no camera resolution, flight time, range, weight, battery size or age guidance.

Who it's for

DroneXS suits beginners who want to practise indoors, older children flying with adult supervision, and gift buyers after a compact novelty. It is not for aerial photography, outdoor flying in wind or unsupervised young children. Our XPro Drone review covers a GPS drone from the same checkout for outdoor flying.

  • Beginners who want a cheap-feeling first drone for indoor practice
  • Older children flying with adult supervision
  • Gift buyers who want a compact novelty drone

Indoor learners

Learning throttle, yaw and trim in a living room is cheaper with a mini drone.

Older children

With guards on and an adult nearby, a mini drone can be a fun first flyer.

Gift buyers

The fold-into-remote design is neat to unwrap and carry.

Who should skip it

Skip DroneXS if you want usable photos or video, if you will fly outdoors in wind or near people, or if young children would fly it without close supervision.

  • Anyone wanting usable aerial photos or video
  • People who plan to fly outdoors in wind or near people
  • Young children without close supervision

Is DroneXS really safe for children and good for video?

Safer than bigger drones, but not "safe", and its video is basic. Rounded propellers and guards reduce injuries, yet spinning blades can still hurt fingers, faces and eyes. The page gives no camera resolution; mini drones in this class usually stream low-resolution, shaky video over Wi-Fi. Outdoors, any breeze pushes small drones off course.

"Safe for children"

What to do: fit the guards, fly away from faces and pets, keep long hair tied back, and supervise children at all times.

Camera and video

Wi-Fi video streams lag and break up beyond short range. Clips saved on the phone are often low resolution.

US rules

The FAA's guidance for recreational flyers says drones under 250 grams do not need registration for recreational use, but all recreational flyers must pass the free Trust test, fly at or below 400 feet in uncontrolled airspace and keep the drone in sight.

Batteries

Small lithium batteries need care: do not charge them unattended, and stop using any that swell.

How much does DroneXS cost, and are the add-ons needed?

On 6 October 2026, one DroneXS cost $89, with the five-pack at $277 flagged as the best seller. The checkout offered extra propeller blades for $9, an original carrying case for $17, a USB car adapter for $4 and a 3-year warranty for $9. The box contents image already shows four spare blades and guards.

Prices are in US dollars as listed on 6 October 2026. You can check today's packages on the DroneXS order page (opens G Com Pte Ltd in a new tab).

Extra propeller blades

For $9, an extra set of blades. The image shows the standard box contents, which already include four spare blades.

Original carrying case

For $17, a hard-shell zip case. Since the drone stores inside its remote, a case mainly protects the remote.

Car adapter and warranty

A $4 USB car adapter can charge the drone on the road. The 3-year warranty costs $9; crash damage is usually excluded.

Who sells it

The order page names G Com Pte Ltd at 137 Market Street in Singapore, with the email support@g63com.com and a phone number. The footer gives the country as Hong Kong. The page code says charges appear on your card statement as panameedia.

Is DroneXS better than other drones from this checkout?

It is the most compact, but not the best value. Explore AIR, DroneX and Drone Ultra, all reviewed on our site, are similar folding toy drones at around $99, and XPro Drone adds GPS for outdoor flying at $199. For indoor practice, branded beginner mini drones often cost less and publish flight times.

DroneXS vs Explore AIR and DroneX

Our Explore AIR review and DroneX review cover similar folding toy drones. DroneXS is smaller and more giftable.

DroneXS vs Drone Ultra

Our Drone Ultra review covers another folding drone sold with similar claims.

DroneXS vs a branded beginner drone

Branded mini drones state flight time and age guidance and offer spare batteries. That is where a rival wins.

If you want the fold-into-remote mini drone, you can see today's bundles on the DroneXS offer page (opens G Com Pte Ltd in a new tab).

Is DroneXS legit, and what should you check before buying?

DroneXS is a real product from a named seller, and a drone should arrive if you order. Before buying, ask for the camera resolution, flight time, weight and age guidance, switch from the five-pack, skip the extra blades and note the card statement name.

Ask for specs

What to do: email support@g63com.com and ask for the camera resolution, flight time, range, weight, recommended age and whether spare batteries are available. Keep the reply.

Check the selected bundle

The five-pack for $277 is flagged as the best seller in the page code. What to do: change the order to one drone.

Card statement name and memberships

The charge appears as panameedia. Pages on this checkout have also carried text for a "Gadget Discount Club" membership that is free for 30 days and then billed. What to do: read every checkbox and post-payment page.

Refunds and returns

The page code offers a 30-day guarantee for a full refund or replacement, less shipping and handling. The terms we recorded on 4 October 2026 focus on defective goods, which can be returned within two years once you have a returns number, with return postage at your cost. Crash damage is unlikely to count as a defect.

How to buy DroneXS the smart way

  1. Ask support for specs and age guidance.
  2. Open the DroneXS order page (opens G Com Pte Ltd in a new tab) and select your country.
  3. Change the five-pack to one drone.
  4. Skip the extra blades; add the case only if you want it.
  5. Note the card statement name, panameedia.

How did we score DroneXS?

DroneXS scores 3.4 out of 10: claim accuracy 0.6, build durability 0.7, price competitiveness 0.5, usability 1.2 and owner satisfaction 0.4, each out of 2. The fold-into-remote design is clever and handy. The score falls on missing camera and flight specs, "safe for children" wording, spare blades sold despite appearing in the box, and a price above similar mini drones.

How the score breaks down

We use the five criteria on our how we test page, each out of 2.

What owners say

We found no Trustpilot profile for the gadgetxaura.com store and no retailer reviews for DroneXS by that name. Owners of similar fold-into-remote mini drones on large retail sites tend to enjoy them indoors, and complain about flights of a few minutes, drifting, laggy video and propellers that break after crashes.

What we did, and did not, do

Nobody on our team has flown DroneXS. We read the offer page our link opens and its page code on 6 October 2026, along with the FAA's recreational flyer rules and the pages that rank for DroneXS. The refund and returns terms are as we recorded them from the site's terms page on 4 October 2026.

How to use DroneXS for your first flights

Fit the propeller guards, clear a room of people and pets, take off on a flat surface, and practise hovering at waist height before trying turns. Keep flights short, land before the battery dies, and charge the battery while you can watch it.

  1. Fit the guards. Every indoor flight.
  2. Clear the room. People, pets, ceiling fans.
  3. Trim on take-off. Correct drift with trim buttons.
  4. Hover first. Waist height, then move.
  5. Short flights. Land when it slows.
  6. Watch it charge. Never unattended.
  7. Replace bent blades. Using the spares in the box.

Outdoors

Only in calm weather, in an open space, close to you.

Video

Keep the drone within a few metres for a steadier picture.

What else do people ask about mini drones?

Most questions are about spare batteries, age ranges and crashes. Spare batteries extend play, many makers suggest 14 and over, and crashes are part of learning. Browse our drone reviews for other options.

Can I buy spare batteries?

Ask the seller. Spare batteries make a big difference with short flight times.

What age is it suitable for?

The page does not say. Many mini drones are labelled 14 and over.

What if it crashes?

Guards and spare blades help. Check arms and motors after a hard crash.

Can it do flips?

Many mini drones can. The page does not say.

Frequently asked questions

How good is the DroneXS camera?

The page gives no camera resolution, only 'live video streaming'. Mini drones in this class usually have basic cameras with low-resolution, shaky video sent over Wi-Fi. Treat it as a toy camera.

How much does DroneXS cost?

On 6 October 2026, the offer page listed one DroneXS for $89, two for $149, three (two plus one free) for $187, four for $229 and five (three plus two free) for $277, with the five-pack flagged as the best seller. Extra blades cost $9, a case $17 and a 3-year warranty $9.

Is DroneXS safe for children?

The page says rounded-tip propellers make it safe for children. Guards help, but spinning propellers can still hurt fingers, faces and eyes, and small parts and batteries need care. Supervise children and fly away from faces.

Do I need to register DroneXS?

In the US, recreational drones under 250 grams do not need FAA registration, but every recreational flyer must pass the free Trust test and follow the rules. The page gives no weight, but mini drones like this are usually far under 250 grams.

How long does it fly?

The page does not say. Mini drones of this size typically fly for a few minutes per battery. Ask the seller and consider spare batteries if offered.

Can it fly outside?

Only in calm conditions, and close to you. Without GPS, small drones drift with any breeze and can fly away.

Is DroneXS legit?

It is a real product sold by G Com Pte Ltd, which lists a Singapore address, email and phone number. The concerns are missing specs, 'safe for children' wording, spare blades sold extra despite appearing in the box, the price and return postage at your cost.

We may earn a commission if you buy through our links.

Prices accurate as of October 6, 2026. Check the seller's checkout for current pricing, promotions and terms.

What we checked: No hands-on use. Claims, product title, feature bullets, photos, the box contents shown in an add-on image, US dollar prices, bundles, add-ons, warranty price, seller details and card statement name from the DroneXS offer page our link opens (gadgetxaura.com) and the data in the page's own code on 2026-10-06. The 30-day guarantee text was read in the same page code that day; the fuller refund and returns terms are as recorded from the site's terms page on 2026-10-04. The FAA's recreational flyer guidance and the top-ranking DroneXS pages were read on 2026-10-06.
