Our verdict

No if you have rats, mice or bugs you need gone. PestOFF Pro is a plug-in box with two ultrasonic speakers that claims to drive away rats and insects and even stop rats breeding, and it is silent, simple and chemical-free. But Iowa State University Extension says no research supports claims that ultrasonic devices eliminate pests, the FTC has warned more than 60 sellers to back up such claims, and the add-ons sell features the photos already show. PestOFF Pro scores 3.3 out of 10, held back by the evidence and its claims.

The short version

  • What it is: a plug-in device with two speakers that emits ultrasonic tones meant to repel rodents and insects.
  • Price: $59 for one on 6 October 2026, with a five-pack for $149 flagged as the best seller.
  • Best trait: no poison, traps or mess.
  • Biggest drawback: ultrasonic repellers have no research showing they control pests.
  • Our score: 3.3 out of 10.

Pros & cons

A device you plug in and forget is an attractive idea when you hear scratching in the walls. The pros are about convenience. The cons are about whether it does anything at all, and about claims that go far beyond what any repeller has shown.

What we like

  • Plug in and forget: no traps, poison or bait
  • Silent to most adults and uses little power
  • No chemicals around children and pets
  • Cheap compared with a professional pest call-out
  • The seller names a registered company with an address, email and phone number

What we don't

  • Iowa State University Extension says there is no research to support claims that ultrasonic devices eliminate rodents or insects
  • The FTC has warned more than 60 sellers of ultrasonic repellers to back up their claims
  • 'Stops rats reproduction' has no evidence behind it
  • The main photo shows two speakers, yet a dual speaker upgrade costs $13
  • Pet rodents, rabbits and some pets can hear and be distressed by ultrasound
  • Return postage to an overseas seller is yours to pay

How it works

PestOFF Pro plugs into a wall socket and drives two small speakers that emit high-frequency sound, mostly above the range adults can hear. The theory is that rodents and insects, which hear higher frequencies, find the sound unpleasant and leave the area. The page says it uses a "double conversion system", and an AI chip add-on promises varied tones to stop pests getting used to it.

The repeller as shown on the offer page, with two speakers. Image: PestOFF
  1. Plug it into a wall socket

Step 1: Plug PestOFF Pro into a socket in the room where you have seen pests, ideally low down and with nothing blocking the speakers.

  2. It emits high-pitched sound

Step 2: The speakers send out ultrasonic tones above what most adults can hear. The idea is that rodents and insects find the sound unpleasant and leave.

  3. Leave it running

Step 3: It runs continuously. The page says it varies the sound, and the AI chip add-on promises more variation to stop pests getting used to it.

The page title calls it a "pest repelling ultrasound device, rats and bugs repellent ultrasound device, ready to use pest repellent device". The six bullets promise immediate repelling action, stopping rats reproducing, multiple pest repellent, plug and play, a double conversion system and low power use. It gives no frequency range, sound level, coverage for the standard unit or test of any kind.

What the photo shows

The main photo shows a black oval unit with two round speaker grilles and a power button, plugged in front of a living room, with sound rings spreading towards a mouse and a cockroach on the rug. The page code describes a dual speaker upgrade as an add-on, though two speakers are already pictured.

Why sound struggles indoors

Ultrasound does not travel far and does not pass through walls, furniture or cupboards. It bounces off hard surfaces and is absorbed by soft ones. Rodents live behind walls, under floors and in cavities, exactly where a plug-in speaker's sound does not reach.

Who it's for

Honestly, PestOFF Pro suits very few people. Someone who has already sealed entry points and set traps, and wants a chemical-free gadget as an extra that may do nothing, could try it. Anyone with an active infestation needs proven methods, and households with small pets should avoid it.

  • People who want a chemical-free extra alongside proven pest control, and accept it may do nothing
  • Buyers who have already sealed entry points and want to try a gadget
  • Nobody relying on it alone for a rodent problem

People with a single mouse sighting

One mouse in the kitchen is the moment many people buy a repeller. It is also the moment when a couple of snap traps and sealing the gap under the sink would solve the problem cheaply. A repeller can give a false sense of security while mice settle in.

Renters

Renters sometimes cannot make changes to a property. Report pests to your landlord, who is usually responsible for pest control and repairs. A repeller does not replace that.

Garages and sheds

Outbuildings have many gaps and plenty of shelter. Ultrasound loses strength quickly in open spaces full of clutter. Traps and tidying away food and bedding material work better.

Food businesses

Restaurants and warehouses appear in the add-on image. Food businesses are expected to have proper pest control, usually a contract with a licensed company, to meet hygiene rules. A plug-in repeller will not satisfy an inspector.

Allotment and garden owners

Rats in compost heaps and under sheds are a common problem. Ultrasound outdoors spreads and fades quickly, and gardens offer endless shelter. Covered compost bins, removing fallen fruit and bird food, and traps in tunnels are the usual advice.

People who dislike killing animals

Some buyers want a humane option. Live-catch traps are one, though you must check them often and release animals far enough away, where local rules allow. Proofing your home is the most humane step of all, because it keeps animals out in the first place.

Who should skip it

Skip PestOFF Pro if you have an active infestation, pet rodents or rabbits, a food business, or if you were hoping it would stop rats breeding.

  • Anyone with an active rat or mouse infestation, which needs traps, sealing and possibly a professional
  • Homes with pet rodents, rabbits, guinea pigs or other small pets that hear ultrasound
  • Restaurants and food businesses, which need professional pest control to meet hygiene rules
  • Anyone expecting it to stop rats breeding

Do ultrasonic repellers like PestOFF Pro actually work?

The evidence says no. Iowa State University Extension states that there is no research to support claims that ultrasonic devices will eliminate rodent and insect pests. It reports that FTC complaints against sellers alleged rodents become accustomed to ultrasound and return to their nests and food, and that the FTC found ultrasound devices do not control insects. PestOFF Pro offers no test to suggest it is different.

What Iowa State University Extension says

The extension's article Ultrasonic Pest Control: Buyer Beware summarises the FTC's actions: between 1985 and 1997 the FTC brought cases against six companies over false claims, and in 2001 it sent warning letters to more than 60 manufacturers and retailers saying their claims needed competent and reliable scientific evidence. The article concludes that research does not support ultrasonic pest control.

What this means for you: if you have pests, spend the money on traps and sealing gaps first.

Rodents get used to it

Even when rodents react to a new sound, the effect fades. FTC complaints described any reaction as temporary at best, because rodents become accustomed to ultrasound and return to where they nest and feed. Food and shelter matter more to a mouse than an unpleasant noise.

The "AI chip"

For $4, the AI chip promises "seamless variations for hardcore repelling bugs and rats". Varying the frequency is meant to stop habituation. There is no evidence on the page that it works, and calling a tone generator "artificially intelligent" is marketing.

"Stops rats reproduction"

This is the boldest claim on the page. Rats breed where they have food, water and shelter. We found no research showing that ultrasound stops breeding, and the page gives none.

Health risks of rodents

Rats and mice can carry diseases and contaminate food and surfaces with urine and droppings. That is why prompt, proven control matters, and why waiting weeks to see whether a repeller works carries a real cost.

Insects

The FTC's position, as summarised by Iowa State, is that ultrasound devices do not control insects. Cockroaches, ants and spiders respond to food, moisture and shelter. Bait stations, sealing cracks and cleaning work.

What the sponsored pages say

The pages that rank for PestOFF Pro are promotional and describe pests leaving quickly, without citing any test. We found no independent evidence for this product.

How much does PestOFF Pro cost, and what do the add-ons add?

On 6 October 2026, one PestOFF Pro cost $59, with the five-pack at $149 flagged as the best seller. The checkout offered an AI chip for $4, a dual speakers upgrade for $13, a wide range mode for $7 and a 3-year warranty for $9. The main photo already shows two speakers, so the dual speaker upgrade is the one to question first.

Prices are in US dollars as listed on 6 October 2026. Sellers of plug-in repellers often push multi-packs for "one per room". If the evidence does not support one, five will not help. You can check today's packages on the PestOFF Pro order page (opens G Com Pte Ltd in a new tab).

Dual speakers for $13

The upgrade promises "two ultrasonic speakers for a more intense ultrasound". Its image shows a white unit labelled "Pest Repeller" with two round speakers, the same layout as the black unit in the main photo. What to do: ask support how many speakers the standard unit has.

Wide range mode for $7

For $7, the "wide range mode" promises around 200 square metres of coverage. Its image lists homes, restaurants, hotels, kitchens, warehouses and farms. The page gives no coverage for the standard unit. Ultrasound does not pass through walls, so a large figure on paper means little in a house of separate rooms.

Warranty

The 3-year warranty costs $9. The seller's terms already cover defective goods for two years once you have a returns number. A repeller that powers on but does not repel would not be defective.

Electrical safety

The page shows no electrical safety marks such as UL, CE or UKCA, and does not say which plug types ship to which countries. A cheap plug-in device runs all day, every day. What to do: check the unit for safety marks when it arrives, and stop using it if it gets hot or the plug is loose in the socket.

Electricity

Plug-in repellers draw little power, so running costs are low. The cost that matters is the time pests spend settling in while you wait for a repeller to work.

The "regular price"

Add-ons are shown against crossed-out prices, with a countdown timer on the page. We found no evidence that PestOFF Pro sells at a higher regular price. Plug-in ultrasonic repellers of this shape are sold under many names.

Who sells it

The order page names G Com Pte Ltd at 137 Market Street in Singapore, with the email support@g63com.com and a phone number. The footer gives the country as Hong Kong. The page code says charges appear on your card statement as Matrixfze, written in capitals.

What works better than PestOFF Pro against mice and rats?

Sealing entry points, removing food and shelter, and snap traps work; for a persistent problem, a licensed pest controller. These are the methods pest management experts recommend, and they cost little. Mice and rats get in through surprisingly small gaps, so finding and blocking them matters more than any device.

PestOFF Pro vs sealing gaps

Steel wool, metal mesh and sealant around pipes, vents and gaps under doors stop rodents getting in. It is the single most effective step and the clearest case where an alternative wins.

PestOFF Pro vs snap traps

Snap traps placed along walls where you find droppings catch rodents quickly. Place them out of reach of children and pets, and check them daily.

PestOFF Pro vs Riddex

Our Riddex review covers a long-selling plug-in repeller that uses electromagnetic pulses through wiring. University studies found such devices ineffective, and the FTC settled with its then-maker in 2003. PestOFF Pro uses ultrasound instead and faces the same evidence problem.

Is PestOFF Pro legit, and what should you check before buying?

PestOFF Pro is a real product from a named seller, and a repeller should arrive if you order. Before buying, understand that the evidence does not support ultrasonic repellers, ask how many speakers the standard unit has, switch from the five-pack, skip the add-ons and keep small pets away from it.

Deal with the pests first

What to do: seal entry points, set traps and remove food sources now. Do not wait to see if a repeller works while an infestation grows.

Protect small pets

What to do: if you keep hamsters, rats, mice, guinea pigs, gerbils or rabbits, do not use an ultrasonic repeller anywhere near them.

Check the selected bundle

The five-pack for $149 is flagged as the best seller in the page code. What to do: change the order to one unit, or none.

Card statement name and memberships

The charge appears as Matrixfze. Pages on this checkout have also carried text for a "Gadget Discount Club" membership that is free for 30 days and then billed. What to do: note the statement name, and read every checkbox and post-payment page.

Refunds and returns

The page code offers a 30-day guarantee for a full refund or replacement, less shipping and handling. The terms we recorded on 4 October 2026 focus on defective goods, which can be returned within two years once you have a returns number, with return postage at your cost.

Delivery and support

The seller ships from overseas and gives no delivery estimate. What to do: save your order email, and if nothing arrives within three weeks, ask support for tracking.

How to buy PestOFF Pro the smart way

  1. Seal gaps and set traps first.
  2. Open the PestOFF Pro order page (opens G Com Pte Ltd in a new tab) and select your country.
  3. Change the five-pack to a single unit.
  4. Skip the AI chip, dual speakers and wide range add-ons.
  5. Note the card statement name, Matrixfze, and save your order email.
  6. Keep it away from small pets.

How did we score PestOFF Pro?

PestOFF Pro scores 3.3 out of 10: claim accuracy 0.2, build durability 0.9, price competitiveness 0.7, usability 1.0 and owner satisfaction 0.5, each out of 2. It is simple and chemical-free. The score falls because research and the FTC do not support ultrasonic pest control, the breeding claim is unsupported, add-ons repeat features shown in the photos, and it can distress pet rodents.

What owners say

We found no Trustpilot profile for the gadgetxaura.com store and no retailer reviews for PestOFF Pro by that name. Owners of similar plug-in ultrasonic repellers on large retail sites report mixed results, with common complaints that mice returned within days, pets reacted to the sound, and the units did nothing for cockroaches.

What we did, and did not, do

Nobody on our team has used PestOFF Pro. We read the offer page our link opens and its page code on 6 October 2026, along with Iowa State University Extension's article on ultrasonic pest control and the pages that rank for PestOFF Pro. The refund and returns terms are as we recorded them from the site's terms page on 4 October 2026.

How to use PestOFF Pro alongside methods that work

Find and seal how pests get in, remove what attracts them, trap what is already inside and call a professional if the problem persists. If you also use PestOFF Pro, place it low, unobstructed and away from pets, and judge it by droppings and catches, not by hope.

  1. Find entry points. Check around pipes, vents, doors and the base of walls.
  2. Seal gaps. Steel wool or metal mesh with sealant; rodents chew through plastic and foam.
  3. Remove food. Sealed containers, no food left out, bins with lids.
  4. Reduce clutter. Fewer hiding and nesting places.
  5. Set traps. Along walls where you see droppings, out of reach of pets and children.
  6. Monitor. Check traps daily and clean droppings with gloves.
  7. Call a professional. If signs continue after two weeks.

Where to look for signs

Check under sinks, behind appliances, inside cupboards with food, along skirting boards and in lofts. Droppings, gnawed packaging, grease marks along walls and nests of shredded paper are the usual signs.

Cleaning up droppings safely

Wear gloves, spray droppings with disinfectant and let it soak before wiping up. Do not sweep or vacuum dry droppings, which can spread dust.

If you use the repeller

Plug it into a socket low on the wall, facing open space, not behind furniture. Do not use extension leads. Unplug it if any pet seems agitated.

Signs it is not working

Fresh droppings, gnaw marks, scratching sounds at night or a musty smell all mean pests are still there. Switch to traps and sealing.

Insects

For cockroaches and ants, bait stations, cleaning up crumbs and sealing cracks work. Dampness attracts many insects, so fix leaks.

What else do people ask about ultrasonic pest repellers?

Most questions are about safety for people and pets, and whether different models work better. Most adults cannot hear ultrasound, pet rodents can and may be distressed, and there is no evidence that any plug-in ultrasonic model controls pests. Proofing and trapping remain the reliable methods.

Can humans hear ultrasonic repellers?

Most adults cannot. Some children and young people can hear high-pitched tones near the top of human hearing, and some people report headaches near these devices.

Do ultrasonic repellers work through walls?

No. Ultrasound is blocked by walls, doors, furniture and even curtains. Rodents living inside wall cavities or under floors are out of reach of a speaker plugged into the room.

Do they bother dogs and cats?

Dogs and cats can hear ultrasound. Many show no reaction; some seem bothered. Watch your pets after plugging one in.

Are some ultrasonic repellers better than others?

There is no evidence that any plug-in ultrasonic repeller controls pests. Different frequencies or "AI" variations do not change that.

How long should I wait to see results?

If you are using proven methods, you should see fewer signs within days to a couple of weeks. If you are relying only on a repeller and still see signs after a week, it is not working.

Frequently asked questions

Does PestOFF Pro really repel rats?

There is no good evidence that it does. Iowa State University Extension says no research supports claims that ultrasonic devices eliminate rodent or insect pests. FTC complaints against earlier sellers alleged that rodents get used to ultrasound and return to nesting and feeding areas.

Can PestOFF Pro stop rats breeding?

There is no evidence on the page or in the research we read. 'Stops rats reproduction' is one of the bullets, with no study or explanation. Rodent populations are controlled by removing food and shelter, sealing entry points and trapping.

How much does PestOFF Pro cost?

On 6 October 2026, the offer page listed one PestOFF Pro for $59, two for $89, three (two plus one free) for $109, four for $129 and five (three plus two free) for $149, with the five-pack flagged as the best seller. An AI chip cost $4, dual speakers $13, wide range mode $7 and a 3-year warranty $9.

Is ultrasound safe for pets?

Dogs and cats can hear ultrasound, and pet rodents such as hamsters, rats, mice, guinea pigs and gerbils hear high frequencies very well. A device designed to bother rodents can distress pet rodents. Do not use one in a room with small pets.

What does the FTC say about ultrasonic pest repellers?

In 2001 the FTC sent warning letters to more than 60 makers and sellers of ultrasonic pest-control devices saying their efficacy claims must be backed by scientific evidence. Between 1985 and 1997 it brought cases against six companies over unsubstantiated claims.

What actually works against mice and rats?

Seal gaps and holes they use to get in, remove food and clutter, store food in sealed containers and use snap traps along walls where you see droppings. For a large or persistent infestation, call a licensed pest control professional.

Is PestOFF Pro legit?

It is a real product sold by G Com Pte Ltd, which lists a Singapore address, email and phone number. The concerns are the lack of evidence for ultrasonic repellers, the breeding claim, add-ons that repeat what the photos show and return postage at your cost.
