Our verdict
No if you have hearing loss. PicoBuds Pro is a tiny in-canal device with a volume wheel and a size 10 battery, sold in red and blue as a "hearing aid". Its own instruction manual, shown in the box photo, is titled "Hearing Amplifier", and the FDA says amplifiers are not intended to compensate for hearing loss. Noise reduction is a $14 add-on, and FDA-registered OTC hearing aids now cost about the same or less. PicoBuds Pro scores 3.2 out of 10, held back by how it is sold.
The short version
- What it is: a small in-canal sound amplifier with a volume wheel.
- Price: $79 for one on 6 October 2026, with a five-pack for $197 flagged as the best seller.
- Best trait: discreet and simple, with common batteries.
- Biggest drawback: marketed as a hearing aid but labelled an amplifier, with no fitting.
- Our score: 3.2 out of 10.
Pros & cons
Small amplifiers have a place for people with normal hearing in quiet settings. The pros reflect that. The cons are about the hearing aid marketing, paid extras and better alternatives.
What we like
- Small in-canal design that is discreet in the ear
- Simple volume wheel, with red and blue shells to tell right from left
- Uses common size 10 batteries, one included per the page
- The box image lists a case, wax guard tool, cleaning brush and three ear tips
- The seller names a registered company with an address, email and phone number
What we don't
- Sold as a 'hearing aid', but the box's own manual says 'hearing amplifier'
- The FDA says amplifiers are not intended to compensate for hearing loss
- Noise reduction is a $14 add-on, and the hard case is $9 more
- No fitting, frequency shaping or app, unlike OTC hearing aids
- OTC hearing aids such as Audien's models cost about the same or less with FDA status
- Return postage to an overseas seller is yours to pay

How it works
PicoBuds Pro is a tiny shell that sits in the ear canal, with a microphone, an amplifier, a small speaker and a size 10 battery. A wheel on the outer face sets the volume, and a thin string helps pull it out. It makes all incoming sound louder. Unlike a hearing aid, it is not tuned to your hearing at different pitches.

Fit a battery and an ear tip
Step 1: Open the battery door, insert a size 10 battery and choose the ear tip size that seals comfortably.
Insert it into the ear canal
Step 2: Push the device gently into the ear canal with the pull string facing out, red for the right ear and blue for the left.
Set the volume
Step 3: Turn the small wheel until sounds are clearer but not uncomfortably loud, and pull the string to remove it.
The page title calls it an "adjustable hearing amplifier device", "hear aid dual amplifier", "volume controlled hearing aid", "quality hearing aid device" and "adjustable amplification hearing aid". The six bullets promise a "non-invasive hearing aid device", light weight, an "invisible nude color" front, easy adjustable amplification, silicone buds for insulation and long battery life with an A10 battery included.
The box contents
The hard case add-on image shows a black case, a manual titled "Hearing Amplifier Instruction Manual", a wax guard tool, a cleaning brush, three ear tips, one red device and one size 10 battery.
One or two?
The image shows one device. If you want one for each ear, you need two, which the bundles reflect. Red usually marks the right ear and blue the left.
Who it's for
PicoBuds Pro suits adults with normal hearing who want a small boost in quiet settings, and anyone who understands it is an amplifier, not a treatment. People with hearing loss should look at OTC or prescription hearing aids. Our HearingAid Max review covers a behind-the-ear amplifier from the same checkout.
- Adults with normal hearing who want a little boost in quiet settings, like lectures or TV
- People who want a discreet amplifier while waiting for a hearing test
- Anyone who understands it is an amplifier, not a hearing aid
Quiet listening
Lectures, sermons or quiet TV watching are where a simple amplifier helps most.
Before a hearing test
Some people use an amplifier while waiting for an appointment. Do not let it delay the test.
Who should skip it
Skip PicoBuds Pro if you have diagnosed or suspected hearing loss, ear pain, discharge, sudden or one-sided hearing loss, a perforated eardrum or past ear surgery, or if tiny batteries and controls are hard for you to handle.
- Anyone with diagnosed or suspected hearing loss: an OTC or prescription hearing aid is designed for that
- People with ear pain, discharge, sudden hearing loss or tinnitus in one ear, who need a doctor
- Anyone with a perforated eardrum or ear surgery history
- People who struggle with tiny batteries and controls
Is PicoBuds Pro a hearing aid or just an amplifier?
Its own manual says amplifier. The FDA's guidance separates personal sound amplification products, for people without hearing impairment, from hearing aids, which are intended to compensate for hearing loss. Since 2022, OTC hearing aids for adults with perceived mild to moderate loss are a regulated category. We found no sign PicoBuds Pro has that status.
What the FDA says
The FDA's guidance on hearing aids and personal sound amplification products explains that amplifiers are intended to amplify environmental sound for non-hearing-impaired consumers and are not intended to compensate for hearing impairment. Its OTC hearing aid page explains what to look for in a legally sold OTC aid.
What this means for you: if you have hearing loss, look for "OTC hearing aid" on the label.
Why fitting matters
Hearing loss usually affects some pitches more than others. Hearing aids shape sound to match; amplifiers turn everything up, which can make noise louder and speech no clearer.
Get a hearing check
Earwax, infections and other treatable problems can cause hearing loss. Sudden loss in one ear needs urgent medical care.
What to do: book a hearing test with a GP, audiologist or pharmacy service.
"Non-invasive"
The device sits inside the ear canal. Push it in gently, never force it, and stop if it causes pain.
How much does PicoBuds Pro cost, and are the add-ons needed?
On 6 October 2026, one PicoBuds Pro cost $79, with the five-pack at $197 flagged as the best seller. The checkout offered a hard case for $9, smart noise reduction for $14, a USB car adapter for $4 and a 3-year warranty for $9. For both ears with noise reduction, the cost climbs well past $119.

Hard case holder
For $9, "the original traveler set". The image lists a black box among the contents, so ask whether a case comes as standard.

Smart noise reduction
For $14, "additional sound processing electronics for effective surrounding low frequency noise reduction". The image shows icons rather than any technical detail.

Car adapter and warranty
A $4 USB car adapter has no use with a disposable-battery device; skip it. The 3-year warranty costs $9.

Is PicoBuds Pro better than an OTC hearing aid?
No. OTC hearing aids are designed and regulated for mild to moderate hearing loss, and some cost about the same. Audien's Atom One and Atom Air, which we have reviewed, are sold as OTC hearing aids at prices close to PicoBuds Pro. Prescription aids from an audiologist suit more complex loss.
| Option | Regulated for hearing loss | Fitting | Noise handling | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PicoBuds Pro | No, amplifier | Volume only | $14 add-on | $79 each |
| Audien Atom One | OTC hearing aid | Presets | Basic | See our review |
| Audien Atom Air | OTC hearing aid | Presets | Better | See our review |
| Prescription hearing aid | Yes | Audiologist | Advanced | Higher |

Is PicoBuds Pro legit, and what should you check before buying?
PicoBuds Pro is a real product from a named seller, and an amplifier should arrive if you order. Before buying, get a hearing check, decide whether you need a hearing aid, ask whether a case is included, switch from the five-pack and note the card statement name.
Get a hearing check
What to do: book a hearing test before relying on any device.
Ask what is included
What to do: email support@g63com.com and ask whether the case and spare batteries are included and whether the device is registered as a hearing aid anywhere. Keep the reply.

Refunds and returns
The page code offers a 30-day guarantee for a full refund or replacement, less shipping and handling. How did we score PicoBuds Pro?
PicoBuds Pro scores 3.2 out of 10: claim accuracy 0.3, build durability 0.8, price competitiveness 0.6, usability 1.1 and owner satisfaction 0.4, each out of 2. It is a discreet, simple amplifier with common batteries. The score falls on "hearing aid" marketing for a device its own manual calls an amplifier, noise reduction sold extra, no fitting or app, and OTC hearing aids at similar prices.
How the score breaks down
We use the five criteria on our how we test page, each out of 2.
| Criterion | Score | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Claim accuracy | 0.3 / 2 | "Hearing aid" for an amplifier |
| Build durability | 0.8 / 2 | Tiny shell; volume wheel can wear |
| Price competitiveness | 0.6 / 2 | Close to OTC hearing aids |
| Usability | 1.1 / 2 | Simple, but fiddly for some hands |
| Owner satisfaction | 0.4 / 2 | No independent ratings for this listing |
| Total | 3.2 / 10 |
What owners say
We found no Trustpilot profile for the gadgetxaura.com store and no retailer reviews for PicoBuds Pro by that name. Owners of similar in-canal amplifiers on large retail sites tend to like the small size, and complain about whistling feedback, background noise turned up with speech, tiny volume wheels and batteries that last only days.
What we did, and did not, do
Nobody on our team has used PicoBuds Pro. We read the offer page our link opens and its page code on 6 October 2026, along with FDA hearing aid and amplifier guidance and the pages that rank for PicoBuds Pro. The refund and returns terms are as we recorded them from the site's terms page on 4 October 2026.
How to use PicoBuds Pro comfortably
Choose the ear tip that seals without pressure, insert the device gently with the string pointing back, and start at a low volume, turning up only until speech is clearer. Remove it at night, open the battery door to save power, clean wax from the tip regularly, and see a hearing professional if things do not improve.
- Pick the right tip. Snug, not tight.
- Right is red, left is blue. Check before inserting.
- Insert gently. Never force it.
- Start low. Raise volume slowly.
- If it whistles, reseat it. Or lower the volume.
- Clean wax weekly. Use the brush and tool.
- Open the battery door at night. Saves power.
Batteries
Size 10 zinc-air batteries start working once the tab is removed. Keep them away from children and pets.
Earwax
If wax builds up, see a nurse or pharmacist rather than pushing it deeper.

What else do people ask about in-ear amplifiers?
Most questions are about tinnitus, phone calls and wearing them while sleeping. Amplifiers are not a tinnitus treatment, phone calls can whistle, and they should not be worn to sleep. Browse our hearing reviews for other options.
Can it help tinnitus?
Some people find added sound masks tinnitus. See a doctor, especially if tinnitus is in one ear.
Can I use the phone with it?
Holding a phone close can cause whistling. Use speakerphone.
Can I sleep in it?
No. Remove it at night.
Is it waterproof?
No. Remove it for showers and swimming.
Frequently asked questions
Is PicoBuds Pro a hearing aid?
It is sold as one, but the instruction manual in the box image is titled 'Hearing Amplifier'. In the US, OTC hearing aids are FDA-regulated devices for perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. We found no sign PicoBuds Pro has that status.
What is the difference between an amplifier and a hearing aid?
The FDA's guidance says personal sound amplification products are for people without hearing impairment who want to amplify sounds, and are not intended to compensate for hearing loss. Hearing aids are designed and regulated for that purpose.
How much does PicoBuds Pro cost?
On 6 October 2026, the offer page listed one PicoBuds Pro for $79, two for $119, three (two plus one free) for $137, four for $179 and five (three plus two free) for $197, with the five-pack flagged as the best seller. A hard case cost $9, noise reduction $14 and a 3-year warranty $9.
What battery does it use?
Size 10 zinc-air hearing aid batteries, one of which is included according to the page. They are small and widely sold, and usually last several days of daily use.
Should I get a hearing test first?
Yes. Hearing loss can have treatable causes such as earwax, and sudden or one-sided loss needs urgent care. A hearing test also tells you whether an OTC hearing aid or a prescription device suits you.
Does it reduce background noise?
Only with the $14 smart noise reduction add-on, according to the checkout. Simple amplifiers boost all sounds, which can make noisy places harder, not easier.
Is PicoBuds Pro legit?
It is a real product sold by G Com Pte Ltd, which lists a Singapore address, email and phone number. The concerns are 'hearing aid' marketing for an amplifier, noise reduction sold extra, no fitting or app and return postage at your cost.
