ShoeSterilizer Pro Review: A $59 Heated Shoe Dryer With Sterilising Claims

Heated inserts that warm shoes to a claimed 70°C to dry them. Drying helps with odour and athlete's foot prevention, but sterilising claims are unproven and bigger sizes cost extra.

Heated shoe dryer inserts

Quick answer

Yes for drying damp shoes, no for "sterilising" them. ShoeSterilizer Pro is a pair of heated inserts you slide into shoes overnight, and drying footwear out genuinely helps with odour and with preventing athlete's foot, which thrives in damp.

Our verdict

Yes for drying damp shoes, no for "sterilising" them. ShoeSterilizer Pro is a pair of heated inserts you slide into shoes overnight, and drying footwear out genuinely helps with odour and with preventing athlete's foot, which thrives in damp. But the page claims it kills bacteria without any data, says it is safe on leather while its own image claims 70°C, and fits only up to EU 38 without a $13 extension. ShoeSterilizer Pro scores 3.8 out of 10, held back by its claims and size limits.

The short version

  • What it is: two heated plastic inserts that dry and warm the inside of shoes.
  • Price: $59 for one on 6 October 2026, with a five-pack for $149 flagged as the best seller.
  • Best trait: dries sweaty or wet shoes overnight, which helps with smell.
  • Biggest drawback: unproven sterilising claims, high heat for leather, and sizes above 38 cost extra.
  • Our score: 3.8 out of 10.

Pros & cons

Shoe dryers are a practical, low-tech gadget, and the basic idea works. The pros reflect that. The cons are about overstated claims, heat and fit.

What we like

  • Dries damp shoes overnight with gentle heat, a real help for sweaty or rained-on footwear
  • Drier shoes can reduce odour and help prevent athlete's foot, which thrives in damp
  • Simple: slide the two inserts in and plug in
  • A telescopic option extends the inserts for larger shoes
  • The seller names a registered company with an address, email and phone number

What we don't

  • 'Killing bacteria' and 'sterilizer' are unproven: no test data or microbe figures
  • A claimed 70°C is hot for leather and glued soles, despite 'safe on leather'
  • Fits EU sizes 35 to 38 as standard; 39 to 43 needs the $13 telescopic add-on, and nothing above 43
  • 'Dry shoes immediately' and 'instantly eliminate bad odors' overstate a slow process
  • At $59, it costs more than many plug-in shoe dryers
  • Return postage to an overseas seller is yours to pay

How it works

ShoeSterilizer Pro is two slim, perforated black inserts joined to a mains plug by a cable. Inside each is a heating element. Slide one into each shoe and switch on: the inserts warm up and drive moisture out of the lining and insole, with air escaping through the holes. A red strip lights up while they work. The page image claims 70°C.

The inserts, heat claim and size range. Image: ShoeSterilizer
  1. Loosen and open the shoes

Step 1: Remove insoles if you can, loosen the laces and open the shoes so warm air can circulate.

  2. Slide in the heaters

Step 2: Push one heated insert into each shoe as far as the toe and plug the unit in.

  3. Dry for a few hours

Step 3: Leave them on a hard, heat-safe surface until dry, then unplug. Check leather and glued shoes regularly.

The page title calls it a "shoes dehumidifier", "shoes deodorizer", "shoes sterilizer", "shoes dryer", "shoes bacteria killer" and "shoes bad smell remover". The six bullets promise to "instantly eliminate bad odors", "dry shoes immediately thanks to heat emission", "restore natural shoe smell by killing bacteria", an additional dehumidifying process, "healthy shoes to avoid foot fungus" and safety on leather shoes and sneakers.

What the page leaves out

There is no power rating, timer, auto shut-off, temperature control or safety certification. The image says "suitable for 35-43 yards shoes", meaning EU sizes, but the base inserts only reach 38.

Why drying helps

Odour comes mainly from bacteria breaking down sweat. Fungi that cause athlete's foot also prefer warm, damp shoes. Drying shoes between wears makes life harder for both.

Who it's for

ShoeSterilizer Pro suits runners, walkers and workers whose shoes stay damp, people prone to athlete's foot, and anyone with one everyday pair that never dries. It does not suit people with shoes above EU 43, owners of expensive leather shoes, or anyone expecting a cure for fungus. Our PetHydro Max review covers another household gadget from the same checkout.

  • Runners, walkers and workers whose shoes stay damp from sweat or rain
  • People prone to athlete's foot who want to dry shoes between wears
  • Households with one pair of everyday trainers that never fully dries

Runners and walkers

Sweaty trainers dry overnight instead of staying damp for the next run.

Outdoor workers

Boots soaked by rain or sweat can be dry by morning, within the size limit.

People prone to athlete's foot

Dry shoes are part of prevention, alongside drying feet well and changing socks.

Who should skip it

Skip ShoeSterilizer Pro if your shoes are larger than EU 43, if you do not want heat on expensive leather or glued shoes, or if you hope it will clear an existing fungal infection.

  • Anyone with shoe size above EU 43
  • Owners of expensive leather or glued shoes who do not want heat on them
  • People expecting the device to cure foot fungus

Does ShoeSterilizer Pro really sterilise shoes and kill fungus?

There is no evidence it sterilises anything. The page claims it kills bacteria but offers no test results, microbe counts or temperatures inside the shoe. What it does do is dry shoes, and the NHS advises keeping feet and shoes dry and alternating shoes to help prevent athlete's foot. An existing infection needs antifungal treatment.

What the NHS advises

The NHS athlete's foot page recommends drying feet thoroughly, wearing clean socks, and not wearing the same shoes two days running, along with antifungal creams or sprays from a pharmacist for infections.

What this means for you: use the dryer as part of prevention, and treat any infection properly.

"Restore natural shoe smell by killing bacteria"

Drying slows the bacteria that cause odour. Without data, "killing" is a claim, not a finding. Washing insoles and socks matters as much.

"Safe to use on leather shoes"

The page's own image claims 70°C. Leather can dry out and crack with high heat, and some sole glues soften.

What to do: on leather, use short sessions, check often, and condition the leather afterwards.

Fire and electrical safety

Heating devices left on overnight should sit on a hard surface away from fabric and paper. The page mentions no auto shut-off.

What to do: do not leave it on unattended for long periods, and unplug it when the shoes are dry.

How much does ShoeSterilizer Pro cost, and are the add-ons needed?

On 6 October 2026, one ShoeSterilizer Pro cost $59, with the five-pack at $149 flagged as the best seller. The checkout offered a traveller adapter for $7, a telescopic extension for $13, a USB car adapter for $4 and a 3-year warranty for $9. For shoes above EU 38, the extension is effectively required, bringing the price to $72.

Prices are in US dollars as listed on 6 October 2026. One unit dries one pair at a time. You can check today's packages on the ShoeSterilizer Pro order page (opens G Com Pte Ltd in a new tab).

Telescopic extension

For $13, inserts that "extend further to better cover larger shoes". The image says EU 35 to 38 before extending and 39 to 43 after, with a 3 cm adjustment. Most adult men's shoes fall in the extended range.

Car adapter and warranty

A $4 USB car adapter is unlikely to power a mains heater; ask before adding it. The 3-year warranty costs $9, reasonable for a heating device.

Who sells it

The order page names G Com Pte Ltd at 137 Market Street in Singapore, with the email support@g63com.com and a phone number. The footer gives the country as Hong Kong. The page code says charges appear on your card statement as perfectchoicebase.com.

Is ShoeSterilizer Pro better than other shoe dryers or newspaper?

Not clearly. Plug-in shoe dryers from established brands state their temperature, fit and safety features, and many cost less. Stuffing shoes with newspaper and leaving them in a warm room is free and gentle on leather. Rotating two pairs so each dries for a day is the simplest fix of all.

ShoeSterilizer Pro vs a branded dryer

Established shoe dryer brands often use lower, gentler heat or forced air and publish safety details. For leather boots, that is where a rival wins.

ShoeSterilizer Pro vs newspaper

Slower, but free, and kind to leather and glue.

Is ShoeSterilizer Pro legit, and what should you check before buying?

Ask about safety features

What to do: email support@g63com.com and ask for the power rating, temperature, any timer or auto shut-off, and safety certifications. Keep the reply.

Check the selected bundle

What owners say

We found no Trustpilot profile for the gadgetxaura.com store and no retailer reviews for ShoeSterilizer Pro by that name. Owners of similar heated shoe inserts on large retail sites tend to like that trainers dry overnight and smell better, and complain that inserts are too short for large shoes, get very hot and have flimsy cables.

What we did, and did not, do

Nobody on our team has used ShoeSterilizer Pro. We read the offer page our link opens and its page code on 6 October 2026, along with the NHS athlete's foot page and the pages that rank for ShoeSterilizer Pro. The refund and returns terms are as we recorded them from the site's terms page on 4 October 2026.

How to use ShoeSterilizer Pro safely

Take out the insoles, loosen the laces, slide the inserts in to the toe and leave the shoes on a hard surface away from anything flammable until they are dry. Check leather and glued shoes often, unplug as soon as they are dry, and dry insoles separately in the air.

  1. Remove insoles. Dry them separately.
  2. Open the shoes wide. Loosen laces.
  3. Insert to the toe. One heater per shoe.
  4. Hard surface only. Not carpet or bedding.
  5. Check leather often. Stop if it feels hot or stiff.
  6. Unplug when dry. Do not leave it on for days.
  7. Alternate shoes. Give each pair a day to rest.

For wet shoes

Stuff them with paper towels for an hour first to soak up excess water, then use the dryer.

Storage

Let the inserts cool before packing them away. Do not wrap the cable tightly.

What else do people ask about shoe dryers?

Most questions are about boots, gloves and running it every night. Tall boots may need longer, gloves can be dried on some models with care, and nightly use is fine if shoes are not damaged by heat. Browse our household gadget reviews for other options.

Does it work in boots?

In ankle boots, yes within the size range. Tall boot shafts dry slowly.

Can I dry gloves with it?

Possibly, with care. Thin gloves can overheat.

Can I use it every night?

On trainers, yes. On leather, give the shoes breaks.

Does it shrink shoes?

High heat can shrink or warp some materials. Check shoes as they dry.

Frequently asked questions

Does ShoeSterilizer Pro kill bacteria and fungus?

The page says it kills bacteria but gives no test data. Heat and drying make shoes less hospitable to microbes, and the NHS advises keeping feet and shoes dry to prevent athlete's foot. That is not the same as sterilising, and existing infections need treatment.

How much does ShoeSterilizer Pro cost?

On 6 October 2026, the offer page listed one ShoeSterilizer Pro for $59, two for $89, three (two plus one free) for $109, four for $129 and five (three plus two free) for $149, with the five-pack flagged as the best seller. A travel adapter cost $7, a telescopic extension $13 and a 3-year warranty $9.

What shoe sizes does it fit?

The telescopic add-on image says EU sizes 35 to 38 as standard and 39 to 43 once extended. Larger shoes are not covered. EU 43 is roughly a US men's 9.5 to 10, so many men will need the $13 extension.

Is it safe for leather shoes?

The page says it is. Its own image claims 70°C, which is hotter than most shoe dryers and can dry out leather or soften glue. Use short sessions on leather, check the shoes often and use a cooler method for expensive pairs.

How long does it take to dry shoes?

The page says it dries shoes immediately. In practice, heated inserts take hours, depending on how wet the shoes are. Overnight is typical.

Does it remove odour?

Drying reduces the damp conditions that let odour-causing bacteria thrive, so smells often improve. 'Instantly eliminate bad odors' overstates it; washing insoles and alternating shoes also help.

Is ShoeSterilizer Pro legit?

It is a real product sold by G Com Pte Ltd, which lists a Singapore address, email and phone number. The concerns are sterilising claims without data, high heat on leather, a size extension sold extra, the price and return postage at your cost.

We may earn a commission if you buy through our links.
