GX SmartWatch Review: A Smart-Looking Watch With an ECG Add-On Nobody Has Cleared

A round smartwatch with a leather strap, IP68 claim and health tracking. It looks the part, but ECG is a $9 add-on with no clearance, and the 'Allite' chassis needs proof.

Quick answer

Worth it only if you want a classic-looking smartwatch for steps and notifications, not for health readings you rely on. GX SmartWatch is a round watch with a leather strap, an IP68 claim and seven faces, and it looks more like a traditional watch than most budget wearables.

Our verdict

Worth it only if you want a classic-looking smartwatch for steps and notifications, not for health readings you rely on. GX SmartWatch is a round watch with a leather strap, an IP68 claim and seven faces, and it looks more like a traditional watch than most budget wearables. But "latest health monitor functions" are never listed, ECG is a $9 add-on with no clearance, the page names no app or battery life, and the $19 "Allite Super Magnesium" chassis comes with no proof. GX SmartWatch scores 3.8 out of 10, held back by vague health claims and price.

The short version

  • What it is: a round Bluetooth smartwatch with health tracking, seven watch faces and an IP68 claim.
  • Price: $99 for one on 6 October 2026, with a five-pack for $297 flagged as the best seller.
  • Best trait: a smart, traditional look with a leather strap.
  • Biggest drawback: health functions unlisted and ECG sold as an uncleared add-on.
  • Our score: 3.8 out of 10.

Pros & cons

A smartwatch that looks like a normal watch has real appeal. The pros are about style and basics. The cons are about health claims, which matter most on a watch sold as "packed with all health monitor functions".

What we like

  • Classic round design with a leather strap that looks like a traditional watch
  • Claims IP68 water and dust resistance
  • Seven watch faces and Android and iOS compatibility
  • Fast charging and a long battery life, according to the page
  • The seller names a registered company with an address, email and phone number

What we don't

  • ECG is a $9 add-on with no FDA clearance; Apple's ECG app needed FDA clearance in 2018
  • 'Latest health monitor functions' are not listed or tested on the page
  • The $19 'Allite Super Magnesium' chassis names a real alloy maker with no proof of a link
  • No battery life in days, no sensor details and no app named
  • At $99, it costs about as much as budget watches from established brands
  • Return postage to an overseas seller is yours to pay

How it works

GX SmartWatch pairs with your phone over Bluetooth through a companion app. It shows the time on a round touchscreen, counts steps with a motion sensor, shows notifications from your phone and uses an optical sensor on the back to estimate heart rate by shining light into the skin. With the ECG add-on, the page says it records an ECG that syncs to the app.

  1. Charge it and pair the app

Step 1: Charge the watch, install the companion app on your Android phone or iPhone and pair over Bluetooth. The page does not name the app.

  2. Wear it like a normal watch

Step 2: It shows the time, steps and notifications, and uses an optical sensor on the back to estimate heart rate and other readings.

  3. Check readings in the app

Step 3: Readings sync to the app. With the $9 add-on, an ECG mode records a trace, which consumer watches can only use to flag rhythm issues if cleared to do so.

The page title lists "high end smart watch, sport watch, health smart watch, ECG smart watch, heart rate smart watch, fast charging smart watch". The six bullets promise an exclusive design with premium materials, IP68 water and dust resistance, seven watch faces, the latest health monitor functions, extended battery life with fast charging and Android and iOS compatibility. It gives no sensor list, battery life in days, app name or accuracy figures.

Which health functions?

The page does not say. Watches of this style commonly offer heart rate, step counting, sleep estimates and sometimes blood oxygen and "blood pressure" readings. Without a list, you cannot tell what you are buying.

The app

Budget watches rely on a companion app from the factory, which handles data and updates. The page names none. App quality and privacy vary widely, and some apps stop being updated.

Who it's for

GX SmartWatch suits someone who wants a traditional-looking smartwatch for steps, notifications and a rough idea of heart rate, and who likes a leather strap. It does not suit anyone who needs dependable heart rhythm or blood pressure readings.

  • People who want a classic-looking smartwatch for steps, notifications and basic tracking
  • Buyers who like a leather strap and round face more than a square fitness band
  • Anyone who treats health readings as rough wellness estimates

Style first

If you dislike rubber fitness bands, a round watch with a leather strap looks better with work clothes. That is a genuine reason to choose it.

Step counters

Step counting works on almost any smartwatch. If moving more is your goal, it will do the job.

Notifications

Seeing who is calling or messaging without taking out your phone is useful. Notification support depends on the app and your phone's settings.

People with heart conditions

If you have or suspect a heart rhythm problem, use devices your doctor recommends. Some watches have ECG features cleared by regulators; this one shows none.

Who should skip it

Skip GX SmartWatch if you want a reliable ECG, cuff-accurate blood pressure, published battery life and a known app, or if you plan to swim laps without confirming the water rating.

  • Anyone wanting a reliable ECG or heart rhythm check
  • People who need cuff-accurate blood pressure or medical-grade readings
  • Buyers who want a known app, long software support and published battery life
  • Swimmers who need a specific water rating for laps

Can you trust GX SmartWatch's ECG and health readings?

Not for medical decisions. ECG is a $9 add-on with no clearance shown. Apple's ECG app needed FDA clearance in 2018 before it could tell users whether a single-lead trace showed atrial fibrillation. Other health functions on the GX are not even listed. Wrist sensors on budget watches give estimates, useful for trends at best.

What FDA clearance involved for Apple

MedCity News reported in 2018 on Apple's FDA clearance for the Apple Watch ECG app, which creates a single-channel ECG similar to a Lead I trace and determines whether it shows atrial fibrillation or a normal rhythm. Clearance came with limits on who it is intended for. A budget watch selling ECG as a $9 unlock, with no clearance, is a different thing.

What this means for you: a trace on a watch screen is not a diagnosis. If you feel palpitations, chest pain, faintness or breathlessness, seek medical help.

The ECG add-on image

The add-on image shows the watch displaying an ECG trace and 89 bpm, in front of a phone app screen headed ECG with a rhythm graph and fields for name, height, weight and bpm. A graph that looks like an ECG does not show that the reading is accurate.

GX SmartWatch screen showing an ECG trace and 89 bpm, in front of a phone app screen headed ECG with a heart rhythm graph
The $9 ECG add-on image, showing an ECG screen and app. Image: GX

Heart rate

Optical heart rate sensors are generally reasonable at rest and less reliable during intense or rhythmic exercise. For training by heart rate zones, a chest strap is more accurate.

Blood pressure and oxygen

If the watch offers blood pressure, treat it with great caution. The FDA has warned against using unauthorised devices that claim to measure blood pressure without a cuff. Our HealthWatch review explains that warning.

Sleep tracking

Sleep tracking on wrist devices estimates sleep from movement and heart rate. It can show patterns, such as late nights, but stages are estimates.

Does the 'Allite Super Magnesium' chassis mean anything?

It names a real material company, but the page shows no link to it. Allite is an Ohio company that makes magnesium alloys it markets as Super Magnesium, lighter than aluminium. The $19 add-on calls itself "Allite Super Magnesium Chassis" and "military grade metal used in aerospace". The page does not show that the material comes from Allite or say what the standard case is made of.

What Allite says about its alloy

Electronic Design reported that Allite's Super Magnesium alloys, previously used in defence and aerospace, were being offered for other uses as lighter than aluminium and cheaper than carbon fibre, including for sporting goods and electronics.

What to do: ask support whether the chassis is made by Allite and what alloy it is. Without an answer, do not pay $19 for a name.

The $19 magnesium chassis add-on image. Image: GX

What the standard case is

The main photo shows a silver case. The page does not say whether it is metal or plastic. The add-on image shows a black case with a mesh strap, a different look from the silver and leather main photo.

IP68

IP68 means a device has been tested against dust and against continuous immersion at a depth and time the maker should state. The page gives neither. Swimming involves water pressure and movement that a static immersion test does not cover.

How much does GX SmartWatch cost, and what do the add-ons add?

On 6 October 2026, one GX SmartWatch cost $99, with the five-pack at $297 flagged as the best seller. The checkout offered full ECG monitoring for $9, an Allite Super Magnesium chassis for $19, a fast USB car charger for $4 and a 3-year warranty for $24. With ECG and the chassis, one watch comes to $127.

GX SmartWatch price and bundles

5 (buy 3, get 2 free), best seller$297$59.40

Prices are in US dollars as listed on 6 October 2026. One watch is enough to start. You can check today's packages on the GX SmartWatch order page (opens G Com Pte Ltd in a new tab).

Car charger and warranty

The $4 car charger is a USB car adapter. The watch probably charges with its own magnetic cable, which you would plug into it. The 3-year warranty costs $24. The seller's terms already cover defective goods for two years once you have a returns number. Watches can fail at the battery and screen, so a warranty has some value.

The "regular price"

Add-ons are shown against crossed-out prices, with a countdown timer on the page. We found no evidence that GX SmartWatch sells at a higher regular price. Round smartwatches of this design are sold under many names.

Who sells it

The order page names G Com Pte Ltd at 137 Market Street in Singapore, with the email support@g63com.com and a phone number. The footer gives the country as Hong Kong. The page code says charges appear on your card statement as Matrixfze, written in capitals.

Is GX SmartWatch better than other watches from this seller or known brands?

Against known brands, no: budget watches from established makers name their apps, publish battery life and keep updating software. Against the seller's other watches, it is a similar style of product with similar unproven health claims. If ECG matters, choose a watch whose ECG feature is cleared where you live.

GX SmartWatch vs HealthWatch

Our HealthWatch review covers a round health watch from the same checkout that claims blood pressure and blood oxygen readings, with an FDA warning hanging over cuffless blood pressure. The GX is similar in style, with an ECG add-on instead.

GX SmartWatch vs T-Watch

Our T-Watch review covers a rugged sports watch with step tracking and call alerts that makes fewer health claims. If you want something simple and tough, it is a more honest product.

GX SmartWatch vs a fitness band

Our ActiV8 review covers another wearable. Fitness bands from known brands are cheaper than smartwatches and track steps and sleep well. Our invisaWear review covers a safety wearable if that is your priority.

GX SmartWatch vs a cleared ECG watch

If heart rhythm checks matter to you, a watch whose ECG has regulatory clearance is the clearest case where a rival wins. It costs more, but the feature has been reviewed. Browse our wearables reviews for more.

Is GX SmartWatch legit, and what should you check before buying?

GX SmartWatch is a real product from a named seller, and a watch should arrive if you order. Before buying, ask which health functions it has, the app name, battery life and water depth, skip the ECG and chassis add-ons unless the seller backs them up, switch from the five-pack and note the card statement name.

Ask the key questions

What to do: email support@g63com.com and ask for the list of health functions, the app's name, battery life in days, the IP68 depth and time, and any clearance for the ECG. Keep the reply.

Check the app

What to do: search for the app in your app store, check its ratings, last update and privacy policy before buying.

Check the selected bundle

The five-pack for $297 is flagged as the best seller in the page code. What to do: change the order to one watch.

Card statement name and memberships

The charge appears as Matrixfze. Pages on this checkout have also carried text for a "Gadget Discount Club" membership that is free for 30 days and then billed. What to do: read every checkbox and post-payment page.

Refunds and returns

The page code offers a 30-day guarantee for a full refund or replacement, less shipping and handling. The terms we recorded on 4 October 2026 focus on defective goods, which can be returned within two years once you have a returns number, with return postage at your cost.

Delivery and support

The seller ships from overseas and gives no delivery estimate. What to do: save your order email, and if nothing arrives within three weeks, ask support for tracking.

How to buy GX SmartWatch the smart way

  1. Ask support for health functions, app name and battery life.
  2. Open the GX SmartWatch order page (opens G Com Pte Ltd in a new tab) and select your country.
  3. Change the five-pack to one watch.
  4. Skip the ECG and chassis add-ons unless the seller provides proof.

What owners say

We found no Trustpilot profile for the gadgetxaura.com store and no retailer reviews for GX SmartWatch by that name. Owners of similar round budget smartwatches on large retail sites tend to like the look and price, and complain about inaccurate health readings, apps with poor translations and batteries that fade within a year.

What we did, and did not, do

Nobody on our team has used GX SmartWatch. We read the offer page our link opens and its page code on 6 October 2026, along with MedCity News on Apple's ECG clearance, Electronic Design on Allite Super Magnesium and the pages that rank for GX SmartWatch. The refund and returns terms are as we recorded them from the site's terms page on 4 October 2026.

How to use GX SmartWatch for the best results

Wear it snug above the wrist bone for steadier heart rate readings, keep the app updated, set notifications you actually want, and treat health numbers as trends. Charge it on a routine, rinse it with fresh water after sweat or salt water, and see a doctor about symptoms rather than relying on a watch reading.

  1. Fit it snugly. One finger's width above the wrist bone.
  2. Set up the app carefully. Check permissions and privacy settings.
  3. Choose your notifications. Fewer alerts save battery and distraction.
  4. Look at trends, not single readings. Weekly averages mean more.
  5. Charge on a routine. For example, during your morning shower.
  6. Rinse after sweat or the sea. Then dry it.
  7. See a doctor about symptoms. Do not rely on watch readings.

Leather strap care

Leather does not like water or sweat. Swap to a silicone strap for exercise if the watch uses standard strap pins, and keep leather dry.

Privacy

Health data is sensitive. Read the app's privacy policy, turn off data sharing you do not want and do not link it to accounts you do not need.

If readings seem wrong

Tighten the strap, clean the sensor, stay still and try again. Compare with a manual pulse count over 30 seconds.

Battery care

Avoid leaving it fully drained for long periods and keep it out of extreme heat.

What else do people ask about budget smartwatches?

Most questions are about accuracy, ECG and water resistance. Budget watches give useful estimates for steps and resting heart rate, uncleared ECG features should not guide health decisions, and IP ratings without a stated depth are a weak basis for swimming. Ask sellers for specifics before buying.

Are cheap smartwatches accurate?

Steps and resting heart rate are often reasonable. Calories, sleep stages, blood oxygen and blood pressure are rough estimates at best on budget watches.

Can a smartwatch detect a heart attack?

No consumer watch is designed to detect heart attacks. Chest pain, breathlessness or pain spreading to the arm or jaw need emergency help.

Can I swim with an IP68 watch?

Only if the maker says it is suitable for swimming. Look for a water rating given in metres or ATM and swimming guidance.

Will it work with my iPhone?

The page says yes. iPhones limit some features for third-party watches, such as replying to messages. Check what the app supports.

Frequently asked questions

Does the GX SmartWatch have ECG?

Only with a $9 add-on, described as enabling ECG monitoring synced with the app. The page shows no FDA clearance. Apple's ECG app needed FDA clearance in 2018 to detect atrial fibrillation from a single-lead trace. An uncleared ECG on a budget watch should not be used for medical decisions.

Is the GX SmartWatch accurate for health tracking?

The page lists 'latest health monitor functions' but not which ones, what sensors it uses or any accuracy testing. Wrist heart rate on optical sensors can be reasonable at rest and less reliable during exercise. Treat readings as estimates.

How much does the GX SmartWatch cost?

On 6 October 2026, the offer page listed one GX SmartWatch for $99, two for $159, three (two plus one free) for $197, four for $249 and five (three plus two free) for $297, with the five-pack flagged as the best seller. ECG cost $9, a magnesium chassis $19 and a 3-year warranty $24.

Is the GX SmartWatch waterproof?

The page says IP68 rated. IP68 means tested for immersion beyond IPX7's one metre for 30 minutes, at a depth the maker should state. It does not by itself mean it suits swimming, which involves water pressure and movement. Ask the seller before swimming with it.

What is the Allite Super Magnesium chassis?

Allite is an Ohio company that makes magnesium alloys it markets as Super Magnesium, lighter than aluminium. The $19 add-on uses that name but the page shows no link to Allite or proof of the material. Ask the seller before paying for it.

What is a better smartwatch at this price?

A budget watch from an established brand that names its app, publishes battery life in days and keeps updating its software. If ECG matters, choose a watch whose ECG feature has regulatory clearance where you live.

Is the GX SmartWatch legit?

It is a real product sold by G Com Pte Ltd, which lists a Singapore address, email and phone number. The concerns are the uncleared ECG add-on, unlisted health functions, a chassis claim with no proof, the five-pack flagged as best seller and return postage at your cost.

We may earn a commission if you buy through our links.

Prices accurate as of October 6, 2026. Check the seller's checkout for current pricing, promotions and terms.

What we checked: No hands-on use.
