Our verdict
Yes, if you sit in many meetings, want automatic notes and action items, and are willing to pay a monthly subscription and ask people's permission to record. Fieldy AI is a capable wearable note-taker with a strong owner rating. But the offer page never mentions that the free plan covers only 150 minutes a month, its "HIPAA compliant" badge does not cover personal use, and always-on recording can break consent laws. It scores 5.8 out of 10, held back by the hidden running cost, privacy and legal caveats, and a short 14-day guarantee.
The short version
- A pendant or wristband that listens, sends speech to the cloud for transcription, and gives you summaries, tasks and searchable notes in an app.
- $129.99 for one on 3 October 2026, $194.99 for two, $259.98 for three.
- Free plan: 150 transcription minutes a month. Unlimited: $15.99 a month billed yearly or $19.99 monthly, according to Fieldy's site.
- Up to 7 days of battery, 100+ languages, 14-day money-back guarantee, 1-year warranty.
- Best trait: genuinely useful automatic notes for busy meeting days.
- Biggest drawback: the subscription you are not told about, and the consent you need from everyone you record.
- Our score: 5.8 out of 10.
Pros & cons
Fieldy works and many owners like it. The cons are not about the gadget failing; they are about cost, consent and privacy claims that the offer page glosses over.
What we like
- Hands-free transcripts, summaries and action items from in-person conversations and meetings
- Searchable history and a chat feature to ask questions about past conversations
- Long battery life of up to 7 days, according to the brand, with USB-C charging
- Wear it as a pendant or a watch-style band
- Audio deleted after transcription and data encrypted, according to Fieldy
- Strong owner rating: 4.3 from about 1,000 Trustpilot reviews
What we don't
- The free plan gives 150 transcription minutes a month; all-day use needs a subscription of about $16 to $20 a month
- The offer page does not mention the subscription at all
- Recording people without their consent is illegal in some US states and many countries
- "HIPAA compliant" applies to business arrangements with a signed agreement, not to everyday personal use
- Owners report Bluetooth disconnections and transcription errors in noisy places
- Only a 14-day money-back guarantee on the offer page

How it works
Fieldy is a microphone you wear, an app on your phone and an AI service in the cloud. The device itself does not transcribe; it captures audio and passes it on.
Wear it and switch it on
Step 1: Clip the Fieldy pod into its pendant cord or wristband and press the button. It pairs with the Fieldy app on your phone over Bluetooth and listens until you switch it off.
Speech becomes a transcript
Step 2: When it detects speech, the audio is sent through your phone to Fieldy's service and transcribed. Fieldy says the audio is deleted once the transcript is made.
AI organises your notes
Step 3: The app creates summaries, action items and reminders, and lets you search past conversations or ask its chat feature questions such as what was agreed in a meeting.
Fieldy says it counts minutes only when it detects voices, not silence or background noise, and that it can label different speakers. The app also syncs to a desktop, and you can copy notes into tools such as Slack or Notion.
Who it's for
Fieldy suits people whose days are full of conversations they need to remember: managers, consultants, salespeople, researchers, students in lectures, and people with ADHD or memory difficulties who struggle to keep up. Several owners on the page describe exactly that, including one with ADHD who says searchable past conversations reduced anxiety about missing details.
It does not suit people who would record others without telling them, professionals handling confidential information without employer approval, or anyone who will not pay for a subscription.
Why Fieldy appeals
Most of us forget much of what we hear within days. Taking notes in a meeting means half-listening. A device that quietly records, transcribes and summarises promises to let you be present and still remember everything. The idea of asking your notes "What did the boss say about the deadline?" is genuinely appealing.
It also looks discreet: a small black pod on a cord or band, not a phone held up on the table.
That discretion cuts both ways. It is less distracting than a phone on the table, but it also makes it easier to forget that others may not know they are being recorded. Fieldy's privacy light helps only if people know to look for it.
Who gets the most value
People with many in-person meetings a day, who would otherwise spend time writing up notes, get the most value. If Fieldy saves 20 minutes of note-writing a day, the subscription pays for itself quickly in time saved. Light users, who need notes for one meeting a week, may find the free 150 minutes are enough, or that a phone app does the job.
Fieldy for accessibility
For people who are hard of hearing, a live transcript can help them follow conversations, and for people with memory or attention difficulties a searchable record can be reassuring. If accessibility is your main reason, check that real-time transcript display works well enough on your phone in the settings you use most, and consider dedicated accessibility apps too.
What it will not do
It will not replace careful listening, be a legally reliable record of what was said, or work offline without a phone connection. It does not record video, and it will make mistakes, especially with names, jargon and crosstalk.
A typical day with Fieldy
You clip the pendant on in the morning and press the button. In your first meeting, you tell the room it is on; afterwards, the app shows a transcript with speaker labels and a short summary with three action items. At lunch you switch it off. In the afternoon you ask the app, "What did Sam say about the budget?" and get a paragraph pulled from the morning's notes. In the evening you skim the day's summaries, delete a personal conversation it caught, and charge it overnight every few days.
That is the experience Fieldy is selling, and owners say it largely delivers, provided the phone stays connected and the subscription covers the minutes.
- Professionals with many meetings who want automatic notes and action items
- People with ADHD or memory difficulties who benefit from a searchable record, with others' consent
- Students and researchers in settings where recording is permitted
Who should skip it
- Anyone unwilling to pay a monthly subscription for regular use
- People who would record others without telling them, or who live in all-party consent states without a plan for consent
- Healthcare, legal and financial professionals without an employer-approved agreement covering confidential information
- Anyone uncomfortable with conversations being processed in the cloud
How much does Fieldy cost, including the subscription?
Fieldy cost $129.99 for one on the offer page on 3 October 2026, with two for $194.99 and three for $259.98, all with free shipping. You get the pod with a pendant cord and wristband, plus the Fieldy app. The page does not mention that the free plan covers only 150 transcription minutes a month; all-day use needs a subscription of about $16 to $20 a month.
You get the Fieldy pod with a pendant cord and wristband, and access to the Fieldy app. The page says the app is included with the device; it does not say that heavy use requires a paid plan.

The page shows a "retail" price of $179.99 and "save 50%" banners.
The offer page's single-device price includes free shipping. Fieldy's own site advertised an "Anniversary Sale" when we checked but did not show a device price on its home page, so compare prices on the day you buy.
The subscription the page does not mention
Fieldy's own site lists:
| Plan | Price | Transcription |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 150 minutes a month |
| Unlimited | $15.99 a month billed yearly, or $19.99 monthly | Unlimited |
Some independent reviews also describe a middle "Plus" plan with a monthly minute allowance. Check Fieldy's current plans before buying, as they change.
150 minutes a month is about five minutes a day, or two or three meetings a month. The page's promise of a "24/7 wearable AI assistant" that "listens 24/7" realistically needs the Unlimited plan.
The real first-year cost
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Device (offer page) | $129.99 |
| Unlimited, billed yearly | About $192 |
| First-year total | About $322 |
| Each following year | About $192 |
What this means for you: budget for the subscription, or plan to use Fieldy only for a few meetings a month.
How fast 150 minutes go
| Use | Minutes of speech | Share of free plan |
|---|---|---|
| One 30-minute meeting | About 30 | 20% |
| A one-hour lecture | About 60 | 40% |
| Three 30-minute meetings a week | About 360 a month | Over twice the free plan |
| A busy day of conversations | Several hundred | More than a month's allowance |
Fieldy counts only time when voices are detected, so silence does not use minutes. Still, regular work use goes through the free allowance quickly.
If you are unsure, start on the free plan for the first week of the 14-day guarantee, note how many minutes you use, and decide whether the subscription is worth it before the return window closes.
Annual vs monthly billing
Unlimited costs $15.99 a month billed yearly, about $192 up front, or $19.99 billed monthly, about $240 over a year. Monthly billing costs more but is easier to cancel if Fieldy does not stick. Start monthly, then switch to yearly once you know you will keep using it.
Who makes it
Fieldy's site names the maker as Field Labs Inc. Fieldy sells directly and through offer pages like the one our link opens. Its site offers business associate agreements for HIPAA purposes on orders of 20 or more units, which suggests it targets clinics and businesses as well as individuals.

How well does Fieldy work?
Fieldy works well as a hands-free meeting note-taker in quiet rooms and small meetings, according to owners and independent reviewers, with automatic transcripts, summaries and action items. Accuracy drops in noisy places, with overlapping speakers and with strong accents, and even the claimed 95% accuracy means about one mistake every 20 words. Some owners report Bluetooth disconnections, and battery life is up to seven days.

Nobody on our team has used Fieldy. This section draws on owner reviews, independent reviews summarised in search results and Fieldy's own statements.
Transcription accuracy
The page claims 95% accuracy. Independent reviewers summarised in search results describe strong accuracy in quiet rooms and small meetings, with more mistakes in noisy environments and with accented speech. Owners on Trustpilot mostly praise accuracy, with occasional complaints about errors.
A 95% word accuracy rate still means about one mistake every 20 words, which matters for names, numbers and technical terms. Always check transcripts before relying on them for decisions.
Summaries and chat
The AI summaries and action items are the feature owners mention most. They turn a long transcript into a few lines of key points and to-dos. Like all AI summaries, they can miss nuance or occasionally state something that was not said, so treat them as a starting point.
How the AI handles what it hears
Like most AI note-takers, Fieldy relies on speech recognition followed by a large language model to summarise. That pipeline is good at producing tidy summaries but can smooth over disagreement, miss sarcasm, or present tentative ideas as decisions. For anything important, read the transcript, not just the summary.
Connection reliability
The most common complaint on Trustpilot is Bluetooth disconnections between the device and the phone. One owner on the page says an app update improved the connection. If the phone is far away, out of battery or the app is closed by the phone's power settings, Fieldy may miss conversations.
Battery life
Fieldy says up to seven days. An independent review summarised in search results reported around three days, which likely reflects heavier use. Charge it every few days if you rely on it.
Languages and accents
Fieldy lists over 100 supported languages. Transcription quality in speech-to-text systems is usually strongest in widely spoken languages and standard accents, and weaker with regional accents, mixed-language conversations and specialist vocabulary. If you work in another language, test it in your first week.
Desktop sync and exports
The page says notes sync to a desktop automatically, and that you can copy notes into tools such as Slack and Notion with one click. That makes it practical for people who write up minutes or share action items with a team. Check whether your workplace allows pasting meeting content into those tools.
Speaker labels
Fieldy and reviewers say it can distinguish speakers, which matters for meeting notes. In larger or noisier groups, speaker labelling becomes less reliable.
Fieldy's claims, tested against the evidence
"The 24/7 wearable AI assistant"
Technically it can listen all day. Practically, 24/7 transcription needs the paid Unlimited plan, which the offer page does not mention.
"95% accuracy"
Plausible in good conditions, according to reviewers. Lower in noise, with accents or overlapping speech.
"HIPAA compliant" and "100% secure and private"
HIPAA applies to healthcare organisations under signed agreements, not personal use. "100% secure" overstates what any cloud service can guarantee.
"Up to 7 days battery"
Brand figure with typical use; one independent review reported about three days.
"Translates 100+ languages"
Fieldy's site lists over 100 supported languages for transcription. The quality of translation and transcription varies by language.
"IP65 equivalent"
The offer page says dust and water resistant with an IP65 equivalent rating; Fieldy's own site says splash-proof. "Equivalent" usually means it has not been formally certified. Do not swim or shower with it.
"47,500+ daily users" and "rated 4.8 stars"
We could not verify the daily user figure. Trustpilot showed 4.3 from about 1,000 reviews, which is strong, but lower than the page's 4.8.
"Sold out 3X in the last 12 months"
Unverifiable urgency messaging.
"We tested every feature extensively ourselves"
The page says Fieldy's team tested every feature along with its users. That is expected of any product team; it is not independent testing. Independent reviews, summarised above, give a more balanced view.

| 4.8 stars, 47,500+ users | Trustpilot shows 4.3; user count unverified |
Is it legal to record conversations with Fieldy?
Often, but not always. Federal law and most US states let you record a conversation you are part of with only your own consent, but about 11 states require everyone's consent, according to the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, and rules abroad vary. Recording without permission can be a crime there. Fieldy's "HIPAA compliant" badge applies to business arrangements, not personal use.

This is the most important section of this review. Fieldy's value comes from recording other people. That brings responsibilities the offer page does not mention.
Recording consent laws in the US
According to the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press recording guide, federal law and most states allow you to record a conversation you are part of with only your own consent. About 11 states require the consent of everyone in the conversation, including California, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Washington, with Michigan treated differently depending on the situation.
What this means for you: in those states, recording people without their agreement can be a crime and can lead to civil claims. Even in one-party states, recording a conversation you are not part of is generally illegal.
Outside the US
Many countries have strict privacy and data protection laws. In the UK and EU, recording and processing other people's voices and conversations can bring data protection obligations, and secret recording can breach workplace rules and privacy rights.
At work
Many employers forbid recording meetings without permission, and some prohibit sending business information to third-party AI services. Using Fieldy at work without approval could breach your employment contract or confidentiality obligations.
"HIPAA compliant"
HIPAA is the US law protecting patient health information held by healthcare providers, insurers and their business partners. HealthIT.gov explains that HIPAA applies to these organisations, not to consumers using apps for themselves.
Fieldy says it is HIPAA compliant and offers business associate agreements for orders of 20 or more units. That may make it suitable for clinics that sign such an agreement. For an individual buying it for personal use, the HIPAA badge is not a meaningful privacy guarantee. A doctor or therapist using a personal Fieldy with patients, without their organisation's approval, could breach patient confidentiality.
"100% secure and private" and "nobody at Fieldy ever has access"
Fieldy says it deletes audio after transcription, encrypts data at rest and in transit, and never sells data. Those are good practices. But transcripts are stored in the cloud and processed by AI services, and "100% secure" is a promise no online service can make. Any stored data can, in principle, be exposed in a breach or requested by authorities.
Being fair to the people around you
Beyond the law, people speak differently when they know they are being recorded. Tell colleagues, friends and family when Fieldy is on, and switch it off in private conversations, medical appointments, and anywhere people expect privacy. Fieldy's site mentions a privacy indicator light; make sure others know what it means.
A simple consent script
Something as short as "I use an AI note-taker to keep track of meetings; is it OK if I have it on?" is usually enough. In a group, say it at the start and switch it off if anyone objects. For regular meetings, agree once with the team and remind newcomers.
Places to switch it off
- Medical, legal and financial appointments, unless the professional agrees.
- Bathrooms, changing rooms, bedrooms and anywhere people expect privacy.
- Conversations with children, unless parents or guardians agree.
- Confidential work meetings, unless your employer approves.
- Conversations with people who have asked not to be recorded.
Is Fieldy better than a phone transcription app?
For a few meetings a month, a phone transcription app is cheaper, because you already own the hardware, and many add AI summaries. For video calls, meeting-platform note-takers do the same job without a wearable, usually with a visible recording notice. Fieldy's advantages are hands-free wear, long battery life and always-ready capture for in-person conversations, which matter if you sit in many meetings a day.

The Fieldy app

An automatic conversation summary
| Option | Upfront | Ongoing | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fieldy | $130 | Free 150 min/month; about $16 to $20/month unlimited | Hands-free in-person notes |
| Phone transcription app | Free to low | Free or subscription | Occasional meetings |
| Video-call AI note-taker | None | Often subscription | Online meetings |
| Dedicated voice recorder | $30 to $100 | None | Local recording without cloud |
| Pen and paper | Minimal | None | Privacy and focus |
Fieldy vs a phone app
Many phone apps record and transcribe meetings, some with AI summaries. You already have the hardware. Fieldy's advantages are hands-free wear, long battery life and always-ready capture. For a few meetings a month, a phone app is cheaper.
Fieldy vs meeting-platform note-takers
For video calls, built-in or add-on AI note-takers in meeting software do the same job without a wearable, and participants usually see a notice that recording is on. Fieldy is for in-person conversations.
Fieldy vs a voice recorder
A basic digital recorder keeps audio locally, with no cloud processing and no subscription. You lose automatic transcripts and summaries, but keep full control of the recording.
Fieldy vs other AI wearables
Several AI pendants and pins compete in this space, with similar features, privacy questions and subscription models. Compare subscription costs, battery life, data policies and return terms before choosing.
Fieldy vs simply taking notes
Writing notes yourself costs nothing, keeps everything private and helps you remember, because summarising in your own words is a strong memory aid. It is slower and you will miss things. Many people combine the two: brief handwritten notes for focus, with an AI transcript as a backup.
Other tech we have reviewed
Our wearables section and tech and gadgets hub cover more gadgets, including the Clickfree phone backup drive, the CordBrick cable holder and Air-Tube headphones. For a wearable built for safety rather than notes, see our invisaWear review.
If you have weighed the subscription and consent points and still want it, the Fieldy order page (opens Fieldy in a new tab) lists the single and multi-device offers.

Is Fieldy legit, and what should you check before buying?
Fieldy is a real, well-reviewed product with a Trustpilot score of 4.3 from about 1,000 reviews, but the offer page leaves out key costs and caveats. Before buying, budget for a subscription if you will transcribe more than a few meetings a month, check recording consent laws where you live and your employer's policy, and test it fully within the short 14-day return window.
Budget for the subscription
The free plan covers 150 minutes a month.
What to do: estimate how many minutes of conversation you want transcribed. If it is more than a few meetings a month, add about $16 to $20 a month to the cost.
Get consent
Recording laws vary by state and country.
What to do: tell people when Fieldy is on and get their agreement, especially in all-party consent states. Turn it off in private settings.
Check with your employer
Workplaces often restrict recording and third-party AI tools.
What to do: ask your manager or IT team before using it in meetings, and follow any data policy.
Healthcare, legal and financial work
Confidential information needs proper safeguards.
What to do: do not use a personal Fieldy with patients or clients unless your organisation has approved it and signed any required agreement.
Short return window
The offer page shows a 14-day guarantee.
What to do: test it intensively in the first week: pairing, accuracy in your usual settings, battery, and whether the free minutes or a paid plan suit you. Start a return before day 14 if it does not fit your needs.
Phone and app requirements
Fieldy relies on the phone app and a Bluetooth connection.
What to do: check the app's compatibility with your phone, and allow it to run in the background in your phone's battery settings.
Children and teenagers
Fieldy's marketing is aimed at adults.
What to do: do not give it to children to wear at school without checking the school's rules and the consent of other families. Recording classmates raises the same legal and privacy issues as recording adults.
Data you keep
Transcripts are stored in your account.
What to do: review and delete transcripts you do not need, use a strong password and two-factor authentication if offered, and read Fieldy's privacy policy.
If you lose the device
Transcripts live in your account, not on the pod, according to Fieldy's description. A lost pod is a hardware cost rather than a data leak, but sign out of the app on any lost phone and change your password.
Gifts and shared devices
Each Fieldy is linked to one person's app and account.
What to do: if you buy a multi-pack for a team or family, make sure each person sets up their own account and understands the consent points before using it.
How to buy Fieldy the smart way
- Decide whether you need more than 150 minutes a month, then open the Fieldy offer page (opens Fieldy in a new tab).
- Buy one device unless others in your team will use it.
- Check the total and shipping before paying.
- Download the app and read the subscription options on Fieldy's site before your first heavy use.
- Keep your order confirmation and note the 14-day return deadline.
- Test it in your real meetings in the first week.
- If you subscribe, note the renewal date and cancel before it renews if you stop using it.
What do owners say, and how did we score Fieldy?
Fieldy scores 5.8 out of 10: claim accuracy 0.9, build durability 1.2, price competitiveness 0.9, usability 1.3 and owner satisfaction 1.5, each out of 2. Its Trustpilot profile showed 4.3 from about 1,000 reviews, with 62% five-star and 8% one-star. Owners praise easy setup, accurate transcripts and automatic summaries; complaints mention Bluetooth drops, transcription errors and the subscription cost.
Trustpilot
On 3 October 2026 the Trustpilot profile for fieldy.ai showed a TrustScore of 4.3 out of 5 from about 1,000 reviews: 62% five-star, 19% four-star and 8% one-star. Owners praise easy setup, accurate transcripts and automatic outlines and summaries. Complaints focus on Bluetooth disconnections, occasional transcription errors, support access and limited templates on basic accounts. Fieldy replies to about 90% of negative reviews, usually within a week.
Reviews on the page
The page's testimonials describe less forgetting, help with ADHD, being more present in meetings, and teammates asking the owner to turn Fieldy on. One notes that an app update improved connections.
Independent reviews
Reviews summarised in search results describe Fieldy as accurate in quiet settings and good at speaker separation, with the subscription cost the hardest part to justify for light users, and Bluetooth dependence a drawback.
What the reviews agree on
Fieldy is useful for people with many meetings, and the subscription is the main sticking point. Connection reliability is the most common technical complaint.
Who is happiest with Fieldy
The happiest owners use it daily at work, pay for unlimited minutes, and treat it as a meeting assistant rather than a life logger. Less happy owners expected the free plan to cover all-day use, had connection problems with their phone, or found the summaries too generic for their needs.
How Fieldy responds to complaints
Fieldy replies to about 90% of negative Trustpilot reviews, usually within a week, and its public replies stress that it does not store audio after processing. Active responses are a good sign for support, though some reviewers still report difficulty reaching help.
What we would test with Fieldy in hand
If we test it ourselves, we will measure transcription accuracy in quiet and noisy settings, check speaker labels in groups, track battery life, test connection stability over a working week, and review the privacy settings and data export. We will update this review with the results.
How we scored Fieldy
Every score on the site follows the five criteria on our how we test page.
| Criterion | Score | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Claim accuracy | 0.9 / 2 | Core features accurate; "24/7" without the subscription, HIPAA and "100% secure" overreach |
| Build durability | 1.2 / 2 | Simple, well-reviewed hardware; water resistance not formally rated |
| Price competitiveness | 0.9 / 2 | $130 plus about $192 a year for unlimited use |
| Usability | 1.3 / 2 | One button and an app; Bluetooth drops reported |
| Owner satisfaction | 1.5 / 2 | 4.3 from about 1,000 Trustpilot reviews |
| Total | 5.8 / 10 |
The score would rise if the offer page disclosed the subscription, explained consent obligations and described HIPAA accurately.
What we did, and did not, do
We read the offer page, Fieldy's own site, its Trustpilot profile, the Reporters Committee's recording guide, HealthIT.gov's HIPAA guidance and independent reviews summarised in search results, all on 3 October 2026. Nobody on our team has used Fieldy, and no figures here come from our own testing.
How to use Fieldy for the best results
Charge Fieldy fully and pair it with the app before your first meeting, and allow the app to run in the background. Wear it as a pendant at chest height, close to your mouth, for clearer audio. Tell people Fieldy is on and switch it off in private conversations. Afterwards, check names, numbers and dates in the transcript before relying on the summary.
- Charge it fully and pair it with the Fieldy app before your first meeting.
- Allow the app to run in the background in your phone's settings.
- Wear it close to your mouth, as a pendant at chest height, for clearer audio.
- Tell people Fieldy is on, and switch it off in private conversations.
- Use it in quieter rooms where possible, and ask people not to talk over each other.
- Review summaries soon after each meeting and correct any mistakes.
- Export or copy important notes into your usual tools, and delete what you do not need.
Getting the most from summaries
Check names, numbers and dates in the transcript, since these are where errors matter most. Use the chat feature to pull out decisions and action items, then confirm them with the people involved.
A good habit is to send a short follow-up email after important meetings, written from Fieldy's summary but checked by you. It confirms decisions with everyone, corrects any AI mistakes before they spread, and gives others a chance to say if they did not want something recorded or shared.
Managing your free minutes
If you stay on the free plan, switch Fieldy on only for meetings you need notes for. Fieldy counts minutes only when it detects voices, but a busy day can use up a month's allowance quickly.
Pendant or wristband?
The pendant sits closer to your mouth and usually picks up conversation better. The wristband is more discreet but may capture more rustling and less clear speech.
Using it for study
Lectures can be a good use if your institution allows recording. Check the rules, tell the lecturer, and use the summaries to review rather than replace your own notes.
Battery habits
Charge it overnight every few days, and before an important day of meetings. Keep a USB-C cable in your work bag for top-ups during long days. A low battery is the most common reason wearables miss conversations.
Keeping notes useful
Rename conversations with meaningful titles, such as the project or person, so you can find them later. Review the automatic action items each evening and move the real ones into your calendar or task list, so nothing important lives only inside the app. Tag or star the ones that matter. Delete small talk and personal conversations regularly so your history stays focused and your private life stays private.

What else do people ask about AI recording wearables?
Most questions are about legality and privacy. Wearing a recording device is legal, but recording people is regulated: most US states allow one-party consent, around 11 require everyone's consent, and rules abroad vary, so always ask permission. Fieldy says it deletes audio once the transcript is made and keeps the text. Your employer cannot see your notes unless you share them or use a company account.
Is it legal to wear a recording device?
Wearing one is legal; recording people is regulated. Most US states allow recording with one party's consent, but around 11 require everyone's consent. Rules abroad vary. Always check local law and ask permission.
Do AI note-takers store my audio?
It depends on the service. Fieldy says it deletes audio once the transcript is made and keeps the text. Read each service's privacy policy.
Can my employer see my Fieldy notes?
Not unless you share them or use a company account they manage. But using it at work may be subject to company policy, and notes about work may belong to your employer.
Are AI meeting summaries reliable?
They are useful but imperfect. They can miss context, misattribute who said what or, occasionally, include something not said. Treat them as a draft.
Can Fieldy help with ADHD?
Some owners with ADHD say a searchable record reduces anxiety about missing details. It is a tool, not a treatment, and works best alongside other strategies.
What happens if I cancel the subscription?
You would return to the free plan's monthly minutes, according to Fieldy's plan structure. Check what happens to your stored transcripts and export anything important before cancelling.
Does Fieldy work without a phone?
It relies on the phone app to process and display transcripts. Without the phone nearby and connected, it may not capture conversations.
Is it rude to record conversations?
Many people feel uncomfortable being recorded without knowing. Being open about it, and switching it off when asked, avoids most problems.
Can Fieldy record phone calls?
It picks up what it can hear in the room. If your phone is on speaker, it may capture both sides of a call, which brings the same consent questions. Many states treat phone calls under the same consent rules as in-person conversations.
Is Fieldy worth it for students?
It can help with lectures and study groups where recording is permitted, but the free 150 minutes cover only a few lectures a month. Check your school's recording policy and whether a cheaper phone app would do the job.
Does Fieldy work in loud places?
Accuracy drops with background noise, music and overlapping voices, according to reviewers. Quieter rooms and wearing the pendant close to your mouth help.
Can I use Fieldy in another country?
You can use it anywhere the app and your phone work, but recording rules travel with you. Many countries, including much of Europe, have strict privacy and data protection rules, and some treat secret recording seriously. Check local rules before using it abroad, especially in meetings with local businesses.
Does Fieldy replace a professional transcriber?
Not for anything legal, medical or formal. Automatic transcripts are good for personal notes and meeting summaries, but they make errors and do not carry the accuracy or confidentiality guarantees a professional service provides. For court, medical records or publication, use a qualified human service.
What is the best way to try Fieldy before committing?
Use the free plan for the first week, in the meetings you would actually record, and track accuracy, battery and connection drops. If it works for you, decide whether you need the subscription before the 14-day return window ends.
Frequently asked questions
What is Fieldy AI?
Fieldy is a small wearable recorder, worn as a pendant or wristband, that pairs with an app. It listens to conversations, has them transcribed, and uses AI to produce summaries, action items, reminders and a searchable chat over your notes.
Does Fieldy need a subscription?
For regular use, yes. Fieldy's own site lists a free plan with 150 transcription minutes a month and an Unlimited membership at $15.99 a month billed yearly or $19.99 billed monthly. The offer page does not mention this.
How much does Fieldy cost?
On 3 October 2026 the offer page showed $129.99 for one, $194.99 for two and $259.98 for three, with free shipping. Add a subscription for more than 150 minutes a month. That adds about $192 a year for heavy users.
Is it legal to record conversations with Fieldy?
It depends on where you are. Federal law and most states allow recording if one party consents, but about 11 states, including California, Florida, Illinois and Pennsylvania, require everyone's consent. Many countries have strict rules too. Tell people you are recording and get their agreement.
Is Fieldy HIPAA compliant?
Fieldy says it is HIPAA compliant and offers business associate agreements for orders of 20 or more units. For an individual buying it for personal use, HIPAA generally does not apply. Healthcare workers should not use it with patients unless their organisation has approved it and signed an agreement.
How accurate is Fieldy?
The page claims 95% accuracy. Owners and reviewers say it is accurate in quiet rooms and small meetings, with more errors in noisy places, with overlapping speakers and with strong accents. Check names and numbers before relying on transcripts.
How long does the battery last?
Fieldy says up to 7 days on a charge with typical use, charged by USB-C. Battery life depends on how much speech it captures. Charge it overnight before a busy week of meetings, and allow the app to run in the background so it stays connected.
What is the return policy?
The offer page shows a 14-day money-back guarantee and a 1-year warranty. Test it thoroughly in your first days, including the subscription you would need. Fourteen days is short, so use it in several real meetings straight away and decide before the window closes.
