FutureX Pen Review: A $49 Inkless Metal-Tip Pen That Writes Like a Pencil

An everlasting pencil with a metal alloy tip that leaves a grey line without ink or sharpening. It works, but the line is pale, and similar pens sell for far less.

Inkless metal-tip pen

Quick answer

It is a fun desk pen, at several times the usual price. FutureX Pen is an "everlasting pencil": a metal alloy tip that leaves a grey, pencil-like line with no ink, refills or sharpening, and that idea genuinely works for quick notes and doodles.

Our verdict

It is a fun desk pen, at several times the usual price. FutureX Pen is an "everlasting pencil": a metal alloy tip that leaves a grey, pencil-like line with no ink, refills or sharpening, and that idea genuinely works for quick notes and doodles. But the line is pale, specialist pen retailer Cult Pens does not recommend plain alloy-tip pencils as replacements for regular pencils, the metal body is a $4 upgrade, and similar pens sell for much less. FutureX Pen scores 3.7 out of 10, held back by price.

The short version

  • What it is: an inkless pen with a metal alloy tip that writes like a light pencil.
  • Price: $49 for one on 6 October 2026, with a five-pack for $135 flagged as the best seller.
  • Best trait: no ink, leaks or sharpening, ever, for everyday jotting.
  • Biggest drawback: a pale line and a price far above similar pens.
  • Our score: 3.7 out of 10.

Pros & cons

The pros are the real advantages of a metal-tip pencil. The cons are about line darkness, the add-ons and value.

What we like

  • Never needs ink, refills or sharpening for everyday notes
  • No leaks or smudged ink in a bag or pocket
  • Leaves a pencil-like line on ordinary paper
  • Slim, simple design for a desk or notebook
  • The seller names a registered company with an address, email and phone number

What we don't

  • The line is pale grey, lighter than a standard pencil
  • The metal body and a thicker tip are $4 and $9 add-ons
  • Everlasting pencils from general retailers often cost a fraction of $49
  • "Works with oxidation" is a loose description; the tip leaves alloy and graphite particles on paper
  • Return postage to an overseas seller is yours to pay

How it works

The tip is a metal alloy, often containing graphite. Paper fibres are slightly rough, so as you write, friction rubs tiny particles of the alloy and graphite off the tip and onto the page, leaving a grey line. Because metal wears far more slowly than a pencil lead, the tip lasts a very long time without sharpening. Nothing is liquid, so there is nothing to leak or dry out.

The pen as shown on the offer page. Image: FutureX Pen
  1. Write as with a pencil

Step 1: The alloy tip rubs off tiny particles onto the paper, leaving a grey line.

  2. Press a little firmer

Step 2: The line is pale; slightly more pressure or a slower stroke makes it darker.

  3. Swap tips if needed

Step 3: A $9 add-on tip screws in to give a thicker line.

The page title calls it an "Inkless Pen", "Eternal Pen", "Oxidation Pen", "Titanium Pen", "Aluminum Pen" and "Non-toxic Pen", under the headline "Say Goodbye to Ink and Hello to the Eco-Friendly and Durable Inkless Pen". The six bullets promise no refills, sustainability, a durable metal tip that works "with oxidation", a pencil-like mark, use on all main paper types and non-toxic materials.

What the page leaves out

Tip alloy, body material for the standard pen, length, weight, and how dark or erasable the line is.

"Titanium" and "Aluminum"

Both appear in the title; the bullets do not say which the standard body is made of. The "Durable Metallic Body" add-on suggests the base model is not fully metal.

Who it's for

FutureX Pen suits people who jot quick notes and lists, sketchers who like a light line, and anyone tired of leaky pens. It is a desk curiosity, much like the projection clock in our BigTime Pro review, more than an essential.

  • People who want a pen that never runs out for quick notes and lists
  • Sketchers who like a light, pencil-like line
  • Anyone tired of leaky pens in bags

Desk jotters

Phone numbers, shopping lists and to-dos suit a pale line.

Sketchers

A light grey line works for under-drawing before ink or paint.

Bag and pocket carry

No caps, leaks or broken leads.

Who should skip it

Skip FutureX Pen if you need dark writing for forms or signatures, take long notes or exams, or want the best price on an everlasting pencil.

  • Anyone who needs dark, legible writing for forms or signatures
  • Students taking long notes or exams
  • Bargain hunters, since similar pens cost much less

Does an inkless pen really replace pens and pencils?

Not entirely. Everlasting pencils are real and long-lasting, but specialist retailer Cult Pens says plain alloy tips leave a pale mark and it would not recommend them as replacements for regular pencils, except for everyday carry or desk use. Graphite-infused tips write darker but wear faster. The FutureX page does not say which kind of tip it uses.

What a specialist retailer says

Cult Pens' everlasting pencils page explains that alloy tips leave a pale mark while wearing very slowly, and that graphite-infused tips, such as Sun-Star's Metacil, give a darker line but are a little more breakable.

What this means for you: expect a light, grey line suited to notes, not to forms.

"Durable Metal Tip That Work With Oxidation"

The line comes from particles of alloy and graphite rubbing off, not from a chemical reaction you can see. The phrase is marketing shorthand.

"Environmentally Friendly And Sustainable"

One long-lasting pen replaces many disposable ones, which is a fair point.

"Can Be Used On All Main Paper Types"

Very smooth or glossy paper takes less material from the tip, so the line is lighter still.

How much does FutureX Pen cost, and are the add-ons worth it?

On 6 October 2026, one FutureX Pen cost $49, with the five-pack at $135 flagged as the best seller. The checkout offered a metallic body for $4, an extra oxide tip for $9, a USB car adapter for $4 and a 3-year warranty for $9. Yanko Design wrote about a $20 everlasting pencil in May 2026, and basic ones from general retailers often cost less.

Extra oxide tip

For $9, a screw-in tip "with a thicker mark footprint". The image shows a metal tip drawing a thin grey wavy line. A thicker line helps with the paleness.

Car adapter and warranty

A $4 USB car adapter has nothing to do with a pen. The 3-year warranty costs $9.

Who sells it

The order page names G Com Pte Ltd at 137 Market Street in Singapore, with the email support@g63com.com and a phone number. The footer gives the country as Hong Kong. The page code says charges appear on your card statement as panameedia.

Is FutureX Pen better than a pencil, a gel pen or a cheaper everlasting pencil?

For most writing, a pencil or gel pen is darker and cheaper; for the inkless idea, a cheaper everlasting pencil does the same job. FutureX Pen's case rests on never needing ink or sharpening, which every everlasting pencil offers. Yanko Design covered a $20 model, and general retailers sell basic ones for less.

FutureX Pen vs a cheaper everlasting pencil

Yanko Design's article on a $20 never-sharpen pencil covers the same concept. The same idea for less is where a rival wins.

Is FutureX Pen legit, and what should you check before buying?

FutureX Pen is a real pen from a named seller, and it should arrive if you order. Before buying, ask about the body material and tip, switch from the five-pack and note the card statement name.

Ask about materials

What to do: email support@g63com.com and ask what the standard body and tip are made of, and whether the tip contains graphite. Keep the reply.

Check the selected bundle

Card statement name and memberships

The charge appears as panameedia. Pages on this checkout have also carried text for a "Gadget Discount Club" membership that is free for 30 days and then billed. What to do: read every checkbox and post-payment page.

How did we score FutureX Pen?

FutureX Pen scores 3.7 out of 10: claim accuracy 0.9, build durability 1.0, price competitiveness 0.3, usability 1.1 and owner satisfaction 0.4, each out of 2. The inkless idea works and lasts. The score falls on a pale line, the metal body and thicker tip sold separately, vague "oxidation" wording and a price several times that of similar pens.

How the score breaks down

We use the five criteria on our how we test page, each out of 2.

What owners say

We found no Trustpilot profile for the gadgetxaura.com store and no retailer reviews for FutureX Pen by that name. Owners of everlasting pencils elsewhere like never needing to sharpen, and complain about faint lines, scratchy tips on smooth paper and marks that do not fully erase.

What we did, and did not, do

Nobody on our team has used FutureX Pen. We read the offer page our link opens and its page code on 6 October 2026, along with Cult Pens' everlasting pencil guidance, Yanko Design's article and the pages that rank for FutureX Pen. The refund and returns terms are as we recorded them from the site's terms page on 4 October 2026.

How to use FutureX Pen for the darkest line

Write on slightly textured paper, hold the pen a little more upright, and use firm, steady strokes. Smooth or glossy paper gives the faintest line. Use it for notes, lists and sketches, and keep a pen for forms and signatures. If you want bolder strokes, the thicker tip is the add-on that helps.

  1. Choose textured paper. Copier paper and notebooks work better than glossy pages.
  2. Hold it upright. More tip contact, darker line.
  3. Press firmly. But not hard enough to tear the paper.
  4. Write slower. Quick strokes leave lighter marks.
  5. Keep a pen for forms. Signatures need ink.
  6. Use an eraser gently. It may leave a faint trace.
  7. Cap or store tip-up. Protect the point.

Sketching

Build tone with layers of light hatching rather than pressing hard.

Cleaning the tip

Wipe it with a dry cloth if it starts to skip.

What else do people ask about inkless pens?

Most questions are about how long they last, smudging and whether they are allowed in exams. Tips last a very long time, the marks smudge less than soft pencil, and exam rules usually require a standard pen or pencil. Browse our home accessory reviews for more.

How long does the tip last?

Very long; retailers describe alloy tips as wearing extremely slowly.

Does it smudge?

Less than soft pencil, but it can rub a little.

Can I use it in exams?

Check the rules; most specify pen or a standard pencil.

Is it a good gift?

As a curiosity, yes, especially with the metallic body.

Frequently asked questions

How much does FutureX Pen cost?

On 6 October 2026, the offer page listed one FutureX Pen for $49, two for $69, three (two plus one free) for $98, four for $123 and five (three plus two free) for $135, with the five-pack flagged as the best seller. A metallic body cost $4, an extra tip $9 and a 3-year warranty $9.

How does an inkless pen work?

The tip is a metal alloy that, in many designs, contains graphite. As you write, friction leaves tiny particles of the alloy and graphite on the paper, producing a grey line like a pencil. The tip wears very slowly, so it does not need sharpening or refilling.

Is the line dark enough?

Usually lighter than a pencil. UK retailer Cult Pens says everlasting pencils with plain alloy tips leave a pale mark, and it would not recommend them as replacements for regular pencils, though graphite-infused tips write darker.

Can you erase an inkless pen?

Generally yes, with a normal eraser, much like pencil, though some marks may leave a faint trace. Do not use it for anything that must be permanent, such as signing documents.

Does it ever run out?

The tip wears very slowly. The page sells a replacement tip for $9, which suggests it can wear or that you may want a thicker line.

Is FutureX Pen safe for children?

The page says it is non-toxic and safe for all ages. The pointed metal tip still needs the same care as a sharp pencil around young children.

Is FutureX Pen legit?

It is a real product sold by G Com Pte Ltd, which lists a Singapore address, email and phone number. The concerns are a pale line, the metal body and thicker tip sold as extras, a much lower price for similar pens elsewhere and return postage at your cost.
