Clip-on phone ring light

Quick answer

It works, but you can do better for less. BrightSelfie Pro is a small LED ring that clips to your phone and throws soft, even light on your face for selfies and video calls, which genuinely helps in dim rooms.

Our verdict

It works, but you can do better for less. BrightSelfie Pro is a small LED ring that clips to your phone and throws soft, even light on your face for selfies and video calls, which genuinely helps in dim rooms. But the standard version runs on disposable batteries, the rechargeable one is a $9 add-on, the page gives no brightness figures, and the rechargeable OlumiRing we reviewed costs $24.99. BrightSelfie Pro scores 3.4 out of 10, held back by price and paid extras.

The short version

  • What it is: a clip-on LED ring light for phone selfies and video calls.
  • Price: $39 for one on 6 October 2026, with a five-pack for $99 flagged as the best seller.
  • Best trait: soft, flattering front light that fits in a pocket.
  • Biggest drawback: disposable batteries as standard, no specs, and a cheaper rechargeable rival.
  • Our score: 3.4 out of 10.

Pros & cons

Clip-on ring lights are a simple, effective accessory. The pros reflect that. The cons are about power, specs and value.

What we like

  • Even front light that softens shadows in selfies and video calls
  • Clips onto most phones, front or back
  • Small enough for a pocket or bag
  • Works with any camera app, with no pairing
  • The seller names a registered company with an address, email and phone number

What we don't

  • The standard version uses disposable batteries; rechargeable is a $9 add-on
  • No brightness, colour temperature or battery life figures
  • The 'skin enhancer' diffuser is a $5 add-on
  • Can scratch or press on phone screens if clipped carelessly
  • At $39, it costs more than the rechargeable OlumiRing we reviewed
  • Return postage to an overseas seller is yours to pay

How it works

BrightSelfie Pro is a circular ring of LEDs behind a white diffuser, with a padded clip on one side. Clip it over the top of your phone, switch it on, and the ring lights your face evenly from the front, filling in shadows under the eyes and nose. A button cycles through brightness levels. The standard version takes disposable batteries.

  1. Insert batteries or charge

Step 1: Fit the batteries in the standard version, or charge the rechargeable version by USB.

  2. Clip it to your phone

Step 2: Clip the ring over the top edge of your phone, near the camera you are using, without covering the lens.

  3. Switch on and choose brightness

Step 3: Press the button to turn the light on and cycle through brightness levels, then take your photo or join the call.

The page title calls it a "high power white selfie light", "smartphone attachment selfie light", "O-ring selfie light", "even dispenser selfie light" and "selfies flash light". The six bullets promise better selfie pictures and videos, bright light with perfect diffusion, easy attachment, an O-ring shape, "no dark spots and shadows" and compatibility with all smartphones.

What the page leaves out

There is no brightness in lumens, colour temperature, number of levels, battery type or run time.

Brightness figures

Energy Star's guide to brightness explains that lumens, not watts or adjectives, measure light output. Without a figure, you cannot compare lights.

Who it's for

BrightSelfie Pro suits people taking selfies or video calls in dim rooms, live sellers and streamers on a budget, and anyone wanting a pocket light for nights out. It is not for creators needing colour control or anyone avoiding disposable batteries. Our OlumiRing review covers the rechargeable rival.

  • People who take selfies or video calls in dim rooms
  • Live streamers and sellers who want a simple face light on a budget
  • Anyone who wants a pocket light for nights out

Video callers

Front light makes you look clearer on laptop or phone calls in dim rooms.

Night-out selfies

Restaurants and bars are dim; a ring light helps.

Small sellers

Product photos and short videos look better with even light.

Who should skip it

Skip BrightSelfie Pro if you need adjustable colour temperature and stronger output, if you do not want disposable batteries, or if you can buy a rechargeable clip-on light for less.

  • Content creators who need adjustable colour temperature and higher output
  • People who do not want to buy disposable batteries
  • Buyers who can get a rechargeable clip-on light for less

Does BrightSelfie Pro really remove shadows and improve photos?

It softens shadows on your face at close range, which is what ring lights do well. It will not light a room or fix a dark background. The page's "no dark spots and shadows" overstates it, and without lumen or colour figures you cannot judge brightness or skin tone. Disposable batteries add running cost and waste.

What ring lights do

A ring around the lens lights the face evenly and puts a circular catchlight in the eyes. At arm's length, small rings are effective.

What this means for you: keep the phone close and face a plain background.

"Compatible with all smartphones"

Clips fit most phones, but large camera bumps can get in the way.

Disposable batteries

What to do: choose the rechargeable version or a rival that is rechargeable as standard.

Colour

Cool white light can make skin look pale. Some rivals offer warm and cool modes.

How much does BrightSelfie Pro cost, and are the add-ons needed?

The checkout offered a "skin enhancer diffusion" for $5, a rechargeable battery version for $9, a car USB charger adapter for $4 and a 3-year warranty for $9. OlumiRing has been sold for $24.99 and is rechargeable.

Is BrightSelfie Pro better than OlumiRing or a desk ring light?

No. OlumiRing is rechargeable as standard and was sold for $24.99, and a desk ring light on a stand does more for regular creators. BrightSelfie Pro's only advantage is the bundle discount on multiple lights.

Is BrightSelfie Pro legit, and what should you check before buying?

Ask for specs

What to do: email support@g63com.com and ask for the battery type, run time, brightness in lumens and colour temperature. Keep the reply.

Card statement name and memberships

The charge appears as panameedia. Pages on this checkout have also carried text for a "Gadget Discount Club" membership that is free for 30 days and then billed. What to do: read every checkbox and post-payment page.

The light does what clip-on rings do. What owners say

We found no Trustpilot profile for the gadgetxaura.com store and no retailer reviews for BrightSelfie Pro by that name. Owners of similar clip-on ring lights tend to like the flattering light, and complain about batteries draining fast, clips that slip on thick cases and cool light that washes out skin.

What we did, and did not, do

Nobody on our team has used BrightSelfie Pro. We read the offer page our link opens and its page code on 6 October 2026, along with Energy Star's brightness guide and the pages that rank for BrightSelfie Pro. The refund and returns terms are as we recorded them from the site's terms page on 4 October 2026.

How to use BrightSelfie Pro for better selfies and calls

Clip the ring near the camera you are using without covering the lens, start on a low brightness, and hold the phone at arm's length facing a plain background. Raise brightness only as needed, turn off overhead lights that cause shadows, and use the rechargeable version to avoid buying batteries.

  1. Clip near the lens. Never over it.
  2. Start low. Bright light can wash out skin.
  3. Arm's length. Even light on the face.
  4. Plain background. Busy ones distract.
  5. Overhead lights off. Fewer harsh shadows.
  6. Remove thick cases. If the clip slips.
  7. Switch off after use. Saves batteries.

For video calls

Clip it to a laptop screen edge, if the clip fits, or prop the phone at eye level.

For product photos

Hold the light close to the product for even lighting.

Does it have warm light?

The page does not mention warm or colour modes.

Can I use it on a laptop?

Many clip-on rings fit laptop lids. Check the clip opening.

Can I use it as a torch?

In a pinch, yes. It is designed for faces.

Frequently asked questions

How much does BrightSelfie Pro cost?

On 6 October 2026, the offer page listed one BrightSelfie Pro for $39, two for $59, three (two plus one free) for $79, four for $89 and five (three plus two free) for $99, with the five-pack flagged as the best seller. A diffuser cost $5, a rechargeable version $9 and a 3-year warranty $9.

Is it rechargeable?

Not as standard. The checkout sells 'the upgraded version which comes with rechargeable battery instead of the one with disposables' for $9. Ask which batteries the standard version uses.

How bright is it?

The page gives no lumens or lux figure, only 'high power' and 'high brightness'. Small clip-on rings are designed to light a face at arm's length, not a room.

Does it work with the back camera?

Yes, if you clip it on the back near the rear cameras. Make sure it does not cover any lens.

Will it damage my phone?

The charging image shows padding on the clip. Clip it gently, and avoid pressing on the screen or camera bump.

What is a better alternative?

OlumiRing, which we reviewed and scored 6.4 out of 10, is a rechargeable clip-on ring light sold for $24.99. Larger standalone ring lights suit regular creators.

Is BrightSelfie Pro legit?

It is a real product sold by G Com Pte Ltd, which lists a Singapore address, email and phone number. The concerns are disposable batteries as standard, no brightness figures, add-ons, the price and return postage at your cost.

We may earn a commission if you buy through our links.
