SmartSanitizer Pro Review: A UV Box for Your Phone, With Untested 'Medical Grade' Claims

Quick answer

Worth it only as an easy extra after wiping your phone, and only if your phone fits. SmartSanitizer Pro is a clamshell UV box that runs a six-minute cycle on a phone, earbuds or jewellery, and an enclosed box is a safer way to use UV than a handheld wand.

Our verdict

Worth it only as an easy extra after wiping your phone, and only if your phone fits. SmartSanitizer Pro is a clamshell UV box that runs a six-minute cycle on a phone, earbuds or jewellery, and an enclosed box is a safer way to use UV than a handheld wand. But "medical grade" and "kills 99%" come with no test, UV only treats surfaces it reaches, the XL size for bigger phones is a $7 add-on, and at $89 it costs more than established UV boxes. SmartSanitizer Pro scores 4.0 out of 10, held back by untested claims and price.

The short version

  • What it is: an enclosed UV light box with a six-minute automatic cycle for phones and small items.
  • Price: $89 for one on 6 October 2026, with a five-pack for $267 flagged as the best seller.
  • Best trait: UV stays inside the box, unlike handheld wands.
  • Biggest drawback: no test behind the 99% claim, and larger phones need a paid size upgrade.
  • Our score: 4.0 out of 10.

Pros & cons

UV boxes became popular in 2020, and the enclosed design is the sensible way to use UV at home. The pros are about convenience and safety. The cons are about claims, sizing and value.

What we like

  • Enclosed box keeps UV light away from eyes and skin while it runs
  • Automatic six-minute cycle, so you just close the lid
  • Fits phones, earbuds, keys, glasses and jewellery
  • No liquids or chemicals on your phone's screen
  • The seller names a registered company with an address, email and phone number

What we don't

  • 'Medical grade' and 'kills 99%' come with no test or lab named on the page
  • UV only reaches surfaces it shines on; shadows, cases and grime reduce the effect
  • The XL size for larger phones is a $7 add-on, and the internal size of the standard box is not given
  • Dual UV bulbs are a $9 add-on, and the add-on image carries 'patented' and 'clinically proven' claims with no source
  • At $89, it costs more than established UV phone boxes on sale
  • Return postage to an overseas seller is yours to pay

How it works

SmartSanitizer Pro is a plastic clamshell with a UV lamp inside. You lay a phone or small items on the tray, close the lid, and the lamp runs for six minutes before switching off. UV-C light, if that is what the lamp emits, damages the genetic material of microbes it reaches, so they cannot multiply. The enclosed lid keeps the light away from your eyes and skin.

The box open with its UV light on. Image: SmartSanitizer
  1. Open the lid and place your phone

Step 1: Lay your phone, earbuds, keys or jewellery on the tray inside the clamshell box, screen up or down, and close the lid.

  2. Start the cycle

Step 2: The box switches on its UV light for an automatic six-minute cycle, according to the page, then turns off by itself.

  3. Take it out

Step 3: Open the lid when the cycle ends. UV can only treat surfaces the light reaches, so turn items over or remove cases for a fuller treatment.

The page title lists "UV smartphone sanitizer, jewellery sanitizer, kills 99% of bacteria, germs killer UV, medical grade UV light, sterilization of devices". The six bullets promise a medical grade UV light, an automatic six-minute full cycle, safe use on jewellery, non-abrasive UV disinfection, long-life UV bulbs and a service-free device. The page gives no wavelength, lamp power, internal size, test or power source.

Where the power comes from

The car USB adapter add-on is described as able to run the box in a car, which suggests it is powered by USB. The page does not say whether a cable or plug comes in the box. Ask support, so you are not left without a way to plug it in.

Lid safety

A key safety feature in UV boxes is a switch that turns the lamp off if the lid opens mid-cycle. The page does not mention one. Ask before buying, and do not open the lid while the light is on.

What "medical grade" means

The phrase has no defined meaning for a consumer UV box. Hospital UV systems are validated for dose and coverage. A small box that has not published a test is not in the same category.

Who it's for

SmartSanitizer Pro suits someone who wants a simple, chemical-free extra step for their phone and small items, especially in a household or workplace where devices are shared. It is not a substitute for cleaning, and people with large phones need the XL add-on.

  • People who want an easy, chemical-free extra step to clean their phone
  • Anyone who shares phones or devices at work or at home
  • Buyers who want a safer enclosed UV option rather than a handheld wand

Shared devices

Family tablets, shared work phones and handsets passed around a shop counter collect fingerprints from many hands. A UV cycle at the end of the day is an easy routine.

Healthcare-adjacent workers

People who visit care homes or work with vulnerable people sometimes like an extra cleaning step for their phone. Follow your workplace's infection control policy, which usually specifies approved wipes.

Jewellery

Rings, earrings and watches can go in the box. UV does not clean off grime or tarnish, so wash jewellery as its material allows.

Earbuds and glasses

Earbud cases, earbuds and glasses fit in the tray. UV reaches only the outside, not inside the ear tips or hinges.

Parents of young children

Children's tablets and toys get handled with sticky fingers and sometimes mouthed. Small hard toys and a tablet in its own cycle can go through the box, but washing toys with soap and water does more, and UV cannot reach into crevices and soft parts.

People who wear hearing aids

Hearing aids are handled daily and sit in the ear. Some specialist dryers and UV boxes are made for them. Ask your audiologist before using a general UV box, as heat or UV may not suit every device.

Who should skip it

Skip SmartSanitizer Pro if you expect it to replace wiping your phone, if your phone is large and you do not want to pay for the XL size, or if you want a box with published test results.

  • Anyone expecting it to replace wiping the phone clean
  • People with large phones, unless they add the XL size
  • Buyers who want a UV box with published test results

Does SmartSanitizer Pro really kill 99% of germs?

UV-C can kill germs on surfaces it reaches, but the page gives no test behind its 99% figure. It names no organism, lab, wavelength or dose. In practice, cases, buttons, edges and the side touching the tray can be in shadow, and dirt and oil shield microbes from the light. Wiping your phone first and removing the case gives UV the best chance.

Time matters as much as light

UV dose depends on the lamp's strength and how long it shines. A six-minute cycle from a weak lamp may deliver less than a shorter cycle from a strong one. Without a stated lamp power or a test, six minutes is a time, not a guarantee.

Shadows and contact points

Light travels in straight lines. The side of the phone resting on the tray, the edges and the gaps around buttons may get little light. A box with lamps above and below helps, which is what the double UV add-on promises.

Dirt blocks UV

Fingerprint oil, make-up and grime absorb UV and protect microbes underneath. Wiping the phone first matters as much as the UV cycle.

The double UV add-on image

The $9 "Double UV Light" image is headed "360° UV light disinfection" and says "our patented design is the only device that can disinfect your entire phone", with "clinically proven results" against Staph, E. coli and Salmonella and before-and-after petri dishes. It names no company, patent or study, and it is not clear that these claims belong to SmartSanitizer Pro at all.

Diagram headed 360 UV light disinfection showing a phone between UV bulbs above and below a quartz plate, with before and after petri dishes claiming 99.99% of bacteria killed
The $9 double UV light add-on image, with claims that name no source. Image: SmartSanitizer

What to do: ask the seller for the study and patent numbers behind the image. If they cannot provide them, ignore the claims.

The safety picture

The FDA warned in 2022 that some consumer UV wands emitted up to 3,000 times the recommended UV-C exposure limit and could injure skin and eyes in seconds, according to AIHA's summary of the warning. An enclosed box avoids that risk while the lid stays shut, which is a real advantage over wands.

Long-life bulbs

The page promises long-life UV bulbs but gives no lifetime. UV lamps lose output over time. With no replacement bulbs offered, a dimmed lamp means a new box.

Will your phone fit in SmartSanitizer Pro?

The page does not say, and the XL size add-on suggests larger phones may not fit the standard box. The $7 XL option has an internal size of 170 by 90 by 45 mm and is described as suitable for large smartphones too. Many current phones, in a case, approach or exceed 160 mm long. Measure your phone with its case before ordering.

The $7 XL size add-on image, with a phone inside a teal box. Image: SmartSanitizer

How to measure

Measure length, width and thickness with the case on. Compare with 170 by 90 by 45 mm for the XL. Ask support for the standard box size.

Cases

Taking the case off lets UV reach the whole phone and the inside of the case, which collects grime. Treat them separately.

How much does SmartSanitizer Pro cost, and what do the add-ons add?

On 6 October 2026, one SmartSanitizer Pro cost $89, with the five-pack at $267 flagged as the best seller. The checkout offered an XL size for $7, a double UV light for $9, a car USB adapter for $4 and a 3-year warranty for $14. For a large phone with both upgrades, one box comes to $105.

Car adapter and warranty

The $4 car USB adapter can run the box in a car, according to the description, which suggests the box runs on USB power. The 3-year warranty costs $14. The seller's terms already cover defective goods for two years once you have a returns number.

The "regular price"

Add-ons are shown against crossed-out prices, with a countdown timer on the page. We found no evidence that SmartSanitizer Pro sells at a higher regular price. Clamshell UV boxes of this shape are sold under many names.

Is SmartSanitizer Pro better than PhoneSoap or a simple wipe?

PhoneSoap, an established UV box brand, publishes its testing and sells boxes at a range of prices; a careful wipe costs almost nothing. SmartSanitizer Pro's enclosed design is in the right category, but without published tests and with sizing as an add-on, it is hard to recommend over a known brand.

PhoneSoap boxesBrand cites lab testingSeveral models, including larger bays$130 for the Pro in iMore's review; smaller models cost less

SmartSanitizer Pro vs PhoneSoap

iMore's PhoneSoap Pro review covers a larger UV box for phones and accessories priced at $130, and PhoneSoap sells smaller models for less. The brand cites lab testing for its claims. If you want a UV box, buying from a brand that publishes testing is the clearest case where a rival wins.

SmartSanitizer Pro vs a wipe

Wiping removes dirt, which UV cannot. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth, or a disinfecting product your phone maker approves, avoiding openings. It is quick and cheap.

Is SmartSanitizer Pro legit, and what should you check before buying?

SmartSanitizer Pro is a real product from a named seller, and a box should arrive if you order. Before buying, ask for the internal size, wavelength and lid cut-off, measure your phone, switch from the five-pack and note the card statement name.

Ask the key questions

What to do: email support@g63com.com and ask for the standard internal size, the UV wavelength, whether the lamp switches off when the lid opens and any test results. Keep the reply.

Check the selected bundle

The five-pack for $267 is flagged as the best seller in the page code. What to do: change the order to one box before you enter your details.

Card statement name and memberships

The charge appears as drone720x.com. Pages on this checkout have also carried text for a "Gadget Discount Club" membership that is free for 30 days and then billed. What to do: read every checkbox and post-payment page.

Refunds and returns

The page code offers a 30-day guarantee for a full refund or replacement, less shipping and handling. The terms we recorded on 4 October 2026 focus on defective goods, which can be returned within two years once you have a returns number, with return postage at your cost. A box your phone does not fit is not defective.

Delivery and support

The seller ships from overseas and gives no delivery estimate. What to do: save your order email, and if nothing arrives within three weeks, ask support for tracking.

What owners say

We found no Trustpilot profile for the gadgetxaura.com store and no retailer reviews for SmartSanitizer Pro by that name. Owners of similar unbranded UV boxes on large retail sites like the convenience and complain that large phones do not fit, lids feel flimsy and there is no way to tell whether it works.

What we did, and did not, do

Nobody on our team has used SmartSanitizer Pro. We read the offer page our link opens and its page code on 6 October 2026, along with AIHA's summary of the FDA's UV wand warning, iMore's PhoneSoap Pro review and the pages that rank for SmartSanitizer Pro. The refund and returns terms are as we recorded them from the site's terms page on 4 October 2026.

How to use SmartSanitizer Pro for the best results

Wipe your phone first, take it out of its case, run a cycle, then turn it over and run another if the box has lamps on one side only. Treat the case separately, keep the lid closed during cycles and never look at the lamp.

  1. Wipe first. Remove oil and grime with a soft cloth.
  2. Remove the case. Treat phone and case separately.
  3. Lay items flat. Do not stack them.
  4. Close the lid. Do not open it during a cycle.
  5. Flip and repeat. If lamps are on one side only.
  6. Keep the box clean. Wipe the reflective interior so it reflects light well.
  7. Do not look at the lamp. Even briefly.

Cleaning a phone without damaging it

Turn the phone off, unplug it and wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth, slightly damp if needed. Keep liquid away from ports and speaker openings. Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive cloths and spraying anything directly onto the phone. Check your phone maker's own cleaning advice for what disinfectants it allows.

Daily routine

Many people sanitise their phone at the end of the day when they get home. Combine it with washing your hands, which matters more.

Jewellery

Remove rings and earrings, clean them as appropriate for their material, dry them and then run a cycle if you like.

If the light does not come on

Check the power cable and USB adapter, close the lid firmly and try again. Contact support inside the 30-day window if it stays off.

Keeping the lamp working

Keep the inside dry and dust-free, and do not put wet items in the box.

What else do people ask about UV phone sanitisers?

Most questions are about whether they damage phones, whether they are needed and how often to use them. UV boxes do not harm phone screens in normal use, they are an optional extra rather than a necessity, and once a day is the usual routine. Washing your hands remains the most important habit.

Can UV damage my phone?

Short UV cycles are not known to harm phones in normal use. Long-term exposure can yellow some plastics, but phone sanitising cycles are brief.

Do I need a UV sanitiser at all?

Not necessarily. Regular hand washing and occasional phone wiping cover most needs.

Can I sanitise face masks?

Fabric masks have folds and fibres that UV cannot fully reach. Washing is the reliable method.

Does it charge my phone?

Some UV boxes also charge phones. The SmartSanitizer Pro page does not mention charging.

Frequently asked questions

Does SmartSanitizer Pro kill germs on phones?

UV-C light can inactivate bacteria and viruses on surfaces it reaches directly at the right dose. The page claims medical grade UV that kills 99% of bacteria but names no test, organism or lab. Shadows, cases and dirt block UV, so wiping the phone clean first matters.

Is a UV phone box safe?

Enclosed boxes are safer than handheld UV wands because the light stays inside while it runs. The FDA warned in 2022 that some UV wands emitted up to 3,000 times the recommended exposure limit. Check that the light switches off when the lid opens, and never look at a UV lamp.

How much does SmartSanitizer Pro cost?

On 6 October 2026, the offer page listed one SmartSanitizer Pro for $89, two for $139, three (two plus one free) for $177, four for $219 and five (three plus two free) for $267, with the five-pack flagged as the best seller. XL size cost $7, double UV $9 and a 3-year warranty $14.

Will my phone fit?

The page does not give the standard internal size. The $7 XL option has an internal size of 170 by 90 by 45 mm, 'suitable for large smartphones as well', which implies the standard box may not fit bigger phones. Measure your phone with its case before ordering.

Can it clean jewellery?

The page says it is safe on jewellery. UV can sanitise surfaces of rings and earrings it reaches, but it does not remove dirt or tarnish. Cleaning jewellery with mild soap and water, as appropriate for the material, removes grime UV leaves behind.

Is UV better than wiping my phone?

They do different jobs. Wiping removes dirt, oil and grime, which UV cannot. UV can then treat what remains on exposed surfaces. A quick wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth or a cleaning product your phone maker approves is the basic step.

Is SmartSanitizer Pro legit?

It is a real product sold by G Com Pte Ltd, which lists a Singapore address, email and phone number. The concerns are untested medical grade claims, the XL size and dual bulbs sold as add-ons, an add-on image with unsourced claims and return postage at your cost.
